I See You...Go Bump In the Night,, #FallingForNailArt
Hello, Fireflies!
When I saw this nail art from MissJenFabulous, I knew I had to do my take on it for today's Halloween/Bump In The Night challenge.
These are so simple and fun! All you need is a dotting tool, and black and white polish. I went with my fave 1-coat black, Cult Nails Nevermore, and nearly-1-coat white, Cult Nails Tempest.
It totally reminds me of the old Scooby-Doo cartoons, where everyone would be in the dark, then they'd show everyone's eyes, and then the villain would be in there with his red or yellow spooky eyes, too!
Boo-tle shot! Cult Nails Nevermore, and Cult Nails Tempest.
This may be the perfect, simple, no-muss no-fuss Halloween mani. Do you know what you're wearing for Halloween?

Cutest Creepy Crawlers EVAH! #FallingForNailArt
Time for another double-dose of challenge goodness! Halloween and Creepy Crawlers go together like bread and butter. I saw this amazingly cute mani by IG@ Christabel Nails (on Pinterest) that I knew I had to try and do a version of!
I started off with OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, and did a sponge gradient with Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Electric Sheep. I wasn't worried about it being perfect because nail art was going to come to my rescue and distract you from seeing all the flaws!
I tried to represent all the spidery steps at once. From thumb to pinky - I made circles and then added a little texture so that they would look like fuzzy circles.
Then, I added the web strand that the spider is hanging from, the mouth pincers and eight legs.
The eyes were the best part because they really make the cuteness. Two big white dots that meet in the middle, with black dots inside, and then another set of teeny white dots inside those for highlights.
All the finished spiders, but sans topcoat. Are they not freakin' cute, even for spiders?
All up in your nailz, spinnin' our cutez webz.
Bottle shot: OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Electric Sheep, and Finger Paints Black Expressionism.
Would you wear spiders on your nails if they were this cute?

Matchy Monday - Brown Spots and a Dog
Hello, Fireflies!
Time for another Matchy Monday Mani.
I'm so glad that its at least seasonally appropriate to break out all the fall polish colors. I love rich, warm browns and jewel tones. This golden brown beauty is Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics ISherwood (say it out loud. - I Sure Would!)
That gold shimmer just slays me. Yum.
When my husband saw this pix, he thought I was making Domino nails. Hmm. Well, we're not done! These were made with a dotting tool and OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.
Then, I added dots with Orly Enchanted Forest. As I'm typing this, I realized that I used polishes named iSHERWOOD and enchanted FOREST. I subconsciously made a Robin Hood mani!
I did make a few more dots with Isherwood to add a little more depth and cover some mistakes. Then, the topcoat makes it all nice and pretty.
This dress has a simple black top, and the skirt is this camo-type pattern of dots. I thought my nails looked a lot like it!
Bodie couldn't resist trying to figure out what was going on, and I couldn't resist showing you my curious, cute puppy dog. He is the sweetest love sponge of a dog!
If you do any manis inspired by an outfit, I hope you'll post them on my FB wall - I'd love to see them!

Stamping Sunday - Holo with a Twist
Sunday Stamping! Today's challenge was to stamp over a holo. Well, if there's something I have, it's a lot of holos. This dusty slate blue from Jade, Extasy, was calling my name.
I liked this pattern on Shany SH20, but I thought it would stamp thicker for some reason.
Pretty, but it needs a little something.
I took Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Electric Sheep, Liquidus Blue Diamond Turquoise, and the tiniest nail brush I own, and filled in some of the shapes from the stamp.
I need to try the decal technique, but for now, this is more like what I was looking for.
Bottle shot: Jade Extasy, Finger Paints Black Expressionism, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Electric Sheep, and Liquidus Blue Diamond Turquoise.
Do you prefer your stamps to be one color, do you like decals, or painting them instead?

A 7-Nation Army Goes to San Diego in August
Hello,Fireflies!
Today's edition of "Practically Unattainable Goodness" is brought to you by Enchanted Polish. Most of you know how crazy an EP restock is. After going through all that hard work, it's time to share the spoils... at least a picture of them.
Enchanted Polish Stay Classy San Diego is a gorgeous watermelon red holo.
I finally got this in a swap, because I could not manage to get it in a restock. I'm so happy I did - it's the perfect bright red for me.
Does black and white glitter go with anything better than red? EP Seven Nation Army is a gorgeous addition!
I was on the fence for a while about getting Seven Nation Army. I have a few black & white glitters already. I love tiny glitters, though, and the added holo base clinched it for me, though. Now, I have a glitter than enhances my holos!
Enchanted Polish August 2013 is a dusty turquoise that is one of my fave polish colors. I love a darkened or dusty blue.
I know it's not the same as Water For Unicorns, but it'll have to do for now. This is one of my new fave EPs.
I thought if Seven Nation Army looked that good over red, how would it look over blue?
It didn't disappoint! Bonus: it matched one of my fave dresses! Love how this came together.
I think 7 Nation Army is going to have fun marching all over so many of my polishes! It really adds something pretty cool. Are you going to let it invade your manis?

PurpleNOTpurple?
Hello, Fireflies!
Today, I want to show you Liquid Sky Lacquer Iris Illusion, a gorgeous purple holo... wait.
What happened? It was purple when I got it out. The top of the bottle is purple. Now, the bottle is all blue and it's really looking very blue on my nail.
OMG. I bought a thermal polish and I didn't even realize. I thought I was going a little crazy, y'all. I had to look up other bloggers' swatches to see what was going on! Duh.
I bought these gorgeous rhinestones from Cult Nails at The Makeup Show, and I thought they'd look great with this polish. I know they're a little big for my nubs, but I don't even care. They are so pretty and sparkly. And, because Iris Illusion is a thermal, it takes a little longer than normal to dry, which meant I had plenty of time to set these stones.
Had I known it was a thermal polish, I could have shown you that these stones would look awesome with a purple holo, too! Well, live and learn - and have a little fun!

Other-worldly Flakies!
Hello, Fireflies!
I'm pulling a mani from the vault today. I loved this look when I did it, but it just didn't make it into the blog until now.
I love brown polish. I know it's unpopular, too 90's. Whatever. I've broken so many fashion 'rules' by even having this blog, I think. What's one more?
This is Sephora by OPI Studs and Stilettos. Such a nice warm, rich brown with a hint of brick red.
Nails, Inc The Wyndham came to me as a surprise extra from a sale! I couldn't believe it. I really wanted this, but it was discontinued.
Y'all know how I love my flakies. Though the obvious color is green, there is blue, too - and this interesting golden glow. Doesn't the polish look almost radioactive? So perfect for the Halloween season!
And any other time you want people to just STEP OFF. Can't you see I'm going nuclear?!
Toxic Wasteland! Are you ready loving this season's glow-in-the-dark, ghostly, glowy manis?
