Hello, Fireflies!
I have decided that, along with my first love, nail art, my new addiction is finding new (and often unusual) ways to explore beauty. I never thought that I would love finding strange things to mix up and stick on my face, but here I am!
One of my new favorite brands is InstaNatural, a local Orlando, FL organization, that make all manner of beauty products. I've put their stuff on my face and hair and body, and it all works great, and usually smells good.
Well, if you like the smell of seaweed, then this smells good, too...
I'd like to introduce you to InstaNatural 100% Seaweed Powder.
Seaweed is known for its detoxifying properties. This whopping 1.5 pound jar of powder packs a powerful purging punch! Make yourself a seaweed paste (recipe and instructions are on the label) and cover yourself in plastic wrap. The seaweed and plastic help pull water and toxins from your skin. You should look slimmer, more toned, and see a reduction in cellulite.
I love that InstaNatural included recipes to do other things besides the traditional seaweed wrap.. because no one can pull off a plastic wrap dress like Kathy Bates (in the movie Fried Green Tomatoes,) so why bother trying to one-up her?
This is nothing but pure, certified organic, natural and kosher certified Seaweed powder. It's full of vitamins, minerals, and iodine - all things our bodies need, and a pretty neat spa treatment at home, to boot.
I used the Facial Mask recipe on the label - Cosmetic Black Honey, (bottled) Aloe gel, and Seaweed powder.
I remember the first time I was doing a post about a masque and I was terrified to post a picture of my face with a masque on it. Now, it just wouldn't be a post from me without some strange-colored goop on my face, would it?
The honey makes this masque a little sticky to apply, and the seaweed does smell kinda strongly, so if you like the effects of the product, but not the smell, consider adding a drop or two of essential oil. What I like about this masque is that, even though my skin is oily, the honey doesn't overwhelmingly moisturize it like some rich products do. The seaweed is great for detoxing and working on blemishes, and the aloe fights bacteria and heals the skin.
For more information, you can find InstaNatural on their webpage, Facebook, Google+, and Twitter. You can also find lots of InstaNatural products on Amazon. This Seaweed Powder is currently on sale there for $21.95.
Have you ever used seaweed as a beauty product? What was your experience with it?
