Oscar-Ready For The Red Carpet! #BorgheseBeauty

Product sent for review.  All opinions are my own.

Hello, Fireflies!

Have you been enjoying this season's award shows?  Sunday is the big 'un, the Oscars!  Borghese sent me a few little treats to help me get Couch Ready Red Carpet-Ready!

You're almost ready to exit your limo and walk the carpet, but you need a quick touch-up! My favorite travel brushes are dual-ended, so I can have exactly what I need without carrying twice the brushes!  This Professional Select - The Essential Double-Ended Cosmetic Brush Collection comes with a luxe faux-alligator clutch, and four brushes.  The face brush has an angled side for blushes and bronzers, and one plush side will do for your powders.  The next biggest brush has a concealer edge and a small foundation brush - because if there's anything that needs doing on the go, it's probably concealer!   Next is a shadow/crease brush, and lastly a detail/eyeliner brush, because the devil is in the details.

If you're trying to rock a cat-eye, then you need a sharp black liner!  This Borghese Linea Precisa Liquid Eyeliner felt-tip is soft and precise, though it could be a little darker.  To me, it reads true black, though - not grey or blue or brown.  You could probably layer it for more depth, or, what I like to do, add a matte black shadow on top to give it real staying power.

I decided to use the Eclissare Five Shades Of Sultry palette to create a smoky eye.  Well, daytime-ish smoky eye.  I was going to the dentist, so I didn't want to have really dramatic eyes.  Mostly because I have not had the best luck with dentists lately, and I end up weeping a little every time.  Who wants black running down their face?

No one, especially if you're winning an award for best dramatic performance in a dentist office.

I changed all the lightbulbs in my bathroom, which is helping me get better pictures, but I swear, this looked darker in Real Life.  I did add more silver shadow to keep the look from going too black, but in the picture it looks way more silver than it did in Real Life.

To complete the look, I used my Physicians Formula Ultra Black liner (because, can you believe, I forgot to grab the Borghese one? argh!) Urban Decay Perversion mascara, Eddie Funkhouser Concealer (light) Cover FX Anti-Aging primer and CC Cream, Too Faced Bulletproof Brows (brunette), Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder (Diffused Light) and the bronzer, blush, and highlight from the Urban Decay Naked On The Run palette.
As an aside, that Perversion mascara is pretty awesome.  It doesn't say that it's waterproof, but it stuck like glue and felt soft and light.  I love this stuff.  I'm also loving using the Anti-Aging Primer and CC Cream from Cover FX right now before it gets too hot and sticky here in Florida.  Even my oily skin is drying out from the cold air, and that bit of moisture really makes my makeup look red-carpet ready.. even if I will be watching the awards from my couch!

Are you going to any Oscar parties? What will you be wearing? Are you looking forward to anything in particular about the award shows?
