Lightening and Brightening with Key West Health & Beauty Dark Spot Corrector #keywesthb

Product provided for review. All opinions are my own.
Hello, Fireflies!

I'm not sure that anything has made me as hyper-aware of all the bumps and blemishes on my face as much as a magnifying mirror and a beauty blog.  I try to take the changes in stride as I'm over 40 now, and changes are inevitable and coming faster.  I am trying to stay ahead of the age spots and especially the sun damage I did, and one thing I've been using is this Dark Spot Corrector from Key West Health and Beauty.

Key West Health and Beauty was started by a husband and wife team who own and work in day spas.  Having a passion for the natural and organic, they created a line of skin, body, and foot care products made from the most effective, natural products available.

I love the sleek packaging, and especially the pump dispenser.  Serums and treatments are often reactive to light and air, so opaque pump packaging is usually the best for keeping those treatments as effective as possible.  This treatment is a thin, mildly herbal-scented gel, so a pump is perfect for dispensing the right amount to cover my trouble areas - my cheeks, under my chin, and my hands.

Many dark spot treatments use hydroquinone, a controversial ingredient, to lighten.  Dark Spot Corrector from Key West Health and Beauty uses a combination of acids - Glycolic, Kojic, Salicylic, and Hyaluronic Acid - to remove dead skin cells, brighten, clear pores, and hydrate the skin naturally. It's so gentle, you could use it all over the face as a brightener, or just on spots you want to lighten.

In the 30 days I've been using this product, I haven't seen my dark spots go away, but maybe they are lighter?  I tried to keep the lighting consistent, but obviously failed on that score.  I do feel that this has helped brighten my skin some, and hope to see more lightening after more time.  Most lightening products do take longer than 30 days to really show dramatic results.

I like the product and ingredients enough to keep using the products.  I saw such a drastic improvement in my skin and my husband's skin when we started using hyaluronic acid, that I'll keep using treatments that contain it.  I like salicylic acid for its blemish-busting capabilities, and glycolic acid is great at sloughing off dead skin cells to assist with cell renewal.

I took the palm tree logo from Key West Health and Beauty and used it as inspiration for nail art.  The base is F4 Polish Rockettes, a shimmery white with holo glitter, and the tree is done with Sally Hansen Salon Summertime, a spring green with shimmer, and China Glaze Unplugged, a metallic brown.

For more information, or to purchase, you can find Key West Health and Beauty on their webpage, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Pinterest.  At the current moment, they are sold out on Amazon, but I'm hoping it will return soon!
