You might think that once you've seen one oil, you've seen them all, but then you'd be wrong. I've become an oil addict, lately. Try All The Oils! My latest find is Camellia Oil from BeautyOils.Co, and though it's been used in Japanese culture for centuries, it's a relative newcomer to the Western beauty scene.
Geisha and beauty are pretty much synonymous. Time-tested and Geisha-approved, Geisha used to use Camellia oil to give their hair its distinctive smooth and shiny look.
It's also great as a skin oil. I didn't realize it at first, but I've actually been using Camellia oil in one of my favorite oil blends, from my facial at Tsecret. This oil doesn't have any fragrance, and is the lightest and the quickest-absorbing oil I've ever used. I've been using it in my nighttime skincare regimen as the last step - putting a few drops on my hand to warm it up, and then patting it into my skin. It's soaked in before my head hits the pillow, and it doesn't clog my pores or stain my pillowcase.
I like that the packaging is dark, to help protect the oil from sunlight. It should also be stored away from heat and light. It has a flip-top cap which works pretty well with this oil, though I tend to prefer a pump or dropper with oils, personally.
I also like that this oil is not only fragrance-free, but free from parabens, petroleum, preservatives, and is vegan and cruelty-free. It's great when a product is not only good for my skin, but also good for the planet and my conscience.
For more information, or to purchase, you can find BeautyOils.Co on their website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+, and on Amazon, where this oil currently sells for $9.95.
Have you tried Camellia oil? Do you have a favorite oil for skin or haircare?
