I may have a little bit of a makeup addiction, specifically, shopping for makeup. I love it. So, when Jess from Love For Lacquer became an ambassador for BeautyKind and offered up a chance to try the site, I was excited. Not only do they sell some amazing cosmetic brands, they do it with a positive message and a charitable donation!
I am hard pressed to turn down a lippie, so I grabbed two from brands I'd never tried before: Doucce and Rouge Bunny Rouge.
I love lip stains for their staying power. I selected Doucce Luscious Lip Stain in 607 Red Glimmer ($26.)
It's not really red - it's a light watermelon-pink color. And, it's matte, so I'm not sure why it's called 'glimmer'. It smells like cupcakes, but not obnoxiously so. The package comes with the matte lip color, and a lip gloss. The wand comes clear, but I forgot to take a picture before I touched it to the color... oops.
I don't know that it really stained my lips, but it was comfortable, and lasted longer than a creamy lipstick. The gloss wears only a short while, but it's not sticky. The wand is really pointy and sharp, though. I hope it softens up a little after a few uses.
The packaging is elegant, with its slanted, chrome cap and substantial glass tube, and it definitely reads high-end. I'm just not that excited about needing two tubes to get one look. It looks good matte, though, so the gloss isn't necessary.
I've heard lots of great buzz about Rouge Bunny Rouge, and was stoked to try one of their lipsticks. I selected Word of Mouth ($24), another watermelon-ish color (I didn't realize they'd be so similar! WoM is deeper and has a different finish than Red Glimmer, though.)
I love everything about it, from the gorgeous packaging, to the emollient feel on my lips. It wears about 3-4 hours on me, like most moisturizing lipsticks, but I actually enjoy reapplying it.
In addition to the great brand selection and quick shipping I experienced with BeautyKind, I love that they put positive energy out into the world. This positive message about beauty is printed on the inside of the shipping box:
They also have a selection of charitable organizations that you can pick from to receive 5% of the proceeds from your purchases. If they don't have the organization you want to support, you can ask them to add it for you! Now that's beauty with a conscience!
If you'd like to try BeautyKind through my invitation link HERE, you'll get a $25 credit to start shopping with! They have a BeautyFund, where you get back 1% of what you spend, and what 5 circles of your invitees (your friends, their friends, their friends, and so on) spend in points, too. That's a lot of benefits for buying a lipstick!
For more information, you can find BeautyKind on their website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube.
