Purplicious Look for Face and Nails

Some press samples; some purchased by me
Hello, Fireflies!

These days, it seems like I am all about the purples!  I've re-discovered some old favorites and incorporated some new loves into this total purple look!

I wrote about my experience with Cuepido Cosmetics last month, and I'm still really enjoying them.  I found that a damp Real Techniques sponge (Beauty Blender dupe) is my favorite tool to get a luminous, airbrushed finish.  I actually use the sponge to apply everything - even the powder - and then dust off the excess at the end with a big, fluffy It Cosmetics brush.

If you haven't tried a brush from It Cosmetics, you are missing out.  Seriously.  I can't stop buying them.  They are the softest, fluffiest brushes ever.  (So fluffy, I could die! /Despicable Me)
I also used my OFRA Illuminating Blush Stripes as a blush/highlighter layered over Stila Convertible Color in Lillium.  The Blush Stripes has a metallic rose gold that adds a luster I just love.

I was going to the dentist (again!) and couldn't really do much with my lips, but I didn't want to go without color for this look, so I used OCC Cosmetic Color Pencil in Lydia, a gorgeous light plum, and added a little shine with my Fresh Sugar lip balm.

In lieu of powder shadows, I rifled through some of my shadow sticks to create this look.  I dig mixing purple with golden hues, and liked how these went together.
I forgot to put it in the picture, but I've been using my OFRA khaki brow gel with my SENNA brush, and the two go together like peas and carrots. I can get a natural, filled in look with the fine tip of the brush, and the gel is so pigmented, I need only a little bit!

I used my Milani Shadow Eyez in Golden Bronze for the lids, and Royal Purple for the line and crease.  I wanted a darker look for the outer V, so I added Revlon Smoky Shadow Stick in Flare Ardent, and a little shimmer with Urban Decay Delinquent.  I wanted a little more definition in the liner, so I used my HG liquid liner - Physician's Formula Eye Booster in Ultra Black, and Urban Decay Perversion mascara.

I did some matching nails with these sweet metallic flakies from LynBDesigns.  The top of the gradient is Amazing And Expanding Universe, and the purple tip is Feeling Very Small And Insecure.

Are you into wearing purple?  What's your favorite way to rock it?
