Nourish and Protect with StriVectin

Press Sample.  All opinions are my own.
Hello, Fireflies!

I know it's important to wear sunscreen.  I know, I know.  I really don't like most sunscreens, though.  I don't like the typical 'sunscreen smell', and I don't like how heavy they usually feel, and I don't like how they often feel greasy or take forever to absorb so I can put on makeup.

I was given the opportunity to try StriVectin Repair & Protect Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30, and I can now feel good about wearing sunscreen!

The core ingredient of StriVectin products is called NIA-114.  Like so many great products, it was discovered by accident!  It's a form of Niacin that was discovered while trying to create a cure for skin cancer.  Having its origins in scientific research means that there are strict protocols, clinical studies, and many research papers that give credence to the formula and results of this ingredient.

Because SCIENCE.
The hard truth is that no matter how many lotions and potions you use, if you don't protect your skin from sun damage, you're fighting an uphill battle.  Some powerful skincare ingredients, like Vitamin C and Retinol, may be rendered inert or actually damage the skin if exposed to too much sunlight.

I really like that this moisturizer has SPF of 30, and the NIA-114 to protect against sun damage, and also mitigate the damage I've already done over the years.
I have oily skin that pretty much has rejected every rich cream I've ever tried.  I can't help but feel a little freakish as a woman over 40 with pimples like a teenager!  I was so happy that this lotion didn't break me out!

For me, the cream absorbed quickly, but is emollient enough to work as a foundation primer.  I have been using it with a liquid foundation and I think it makes my skin look radiant! I'm very happy with how my skin has been looking and feeling over the past month that I've been using this cream.  Even Mr. Lit From Within, with his oily skin and bald head, has been using and enjoying this cream.  I love that he's now getting sunscreen protection on his bald pate, especially because it's now summer in Florida, and he's getting more sun exposure.

I only have one complaint about this product, and if you know me, you can guess it's the packaging.  I really don't like jars because I don't like dipping my fingers into the pot of product.  I share a lot of germs with Mr. LitFromWithin, and I know he doesn't have cooties, but now I have his fingers dipping into my cream jar, too.

Aside from that, the jar lid started disintegrating, and I was getting little bits of purple plastic in my cream.  I truly believe that sometimes stuff like this just happens, and it's all about how the company deals with it that matters.  StriVectin responded quickly to my e-mail, and said they were going to investigate the issue, as well as send me a different product.  Not only do I like the product, I feel like they have great customer service, too, which means a lot to me.
My mani today is an abstract representation of the jar packaging.  I used striping tape over a white background and created purple stripes with Pop Beauty 10 and a black striper.  Then, I used Bourjois Rainbow Apparition over the top stripe to represent the clear jar cover over the purple. I love how clean and colorful this came out!
