Laura Mercier Eye Art Artist's Palette (2015)

Hello, Fireflies!

I'm a fan of Cora from Vintage or Tacky, and when she did her review/comparison of the Laura Mercier Artists Palette (2013 vs. 2015 version) I knew I wanted to pick it up! I love purples and neutrals, too. I have some swatches, and two looks I created with this palette to show you today.

Overall, these shadows are really nice.  Some of the lighter ones are hard to see on my skintone, but they are all nicely pigmented.  African Violet is so gorgeous - it's probably the main reason I had to have this palette. 

In the first look I created, I surprised myself by pairing this with a coralish-red outfit.  I don't normally pair purple and red together.  I used more of the neutral and pink colors and only a little purple.  I do love how it turned out, though!

African Violet isn't super shiny or metallic, but it really makes my eyes pop behind my glasses.  It has such a nice subtle glow to it.  And check out my OFRA liquid lipstick in Mina.  It's such a chameleon - applied lightly like this, it's more berry-colored, but applied a little heavier, and it takes on a more wine/burgundy color.

What I used:  Cuepido foundation, concealer, and powder, ELF shadow primer, UD Perversion mascara, Bare Minerals Big and Bright Eyeliner in Plum, OFRA Mina lipstick, and Stila Convertible Color in Lillium, as well as the Laura Mercier Eye Art Artist's Palette.

In the second look, I went a little heavier on the purple and orchid colors, and went for a little more drama, but nothing too crazy.

I love how this works with the Kat Von D Studded Lipstick in Lullaby.  Orchid power!

I can see why this is one of Cora's favorite palettes! So versatile, and so nice to use.  I love how all the colors really compliment my coloring and my brown eyes.
