Luminess Air & Bulletproof Brows are Press Samples. All opinions are my own. |
Yesterday, I shared with you a couple of looks I did with my Luminess Air Essentials, but I wanted to talk about the rest of the stuff on my face today, including some Fiona Styles and Cargo eye makeup!
The first look I built around my new Fiona Styles Radiant Aqua Eye Veil in Baltic. It's a gorgeous periwinkle color, but it didn't give me that shimmer I was craving.
I couldn't have been more surprised at the shadow I found to compliment it and give me that boost of shimmer. It's from a free, unnamed Ulta palette that I recently got in a GWP. It's white with a lovely floral pattern, and it has a few really lovely shadows in it!
Bayou is the surprise stunner in this palette that pairs really well with Fiona's Baltic. Ulta has really upped their game in the eye shadow department!
Here's everything I used in the look: Luminess Air Eraser, Xout, Ultra2 foundation, Tulip blush, and Glow, Ulta palette, >Fiona Styles Radiant Aqua Eye Veil in Baltic, Bulletproof Brows Universal pencil in Taupe, Laura Geller GlamLash, and Kat Von D lipstick in Lolita.
I fell in love with the colors of the Cargo Down Under palette, and bought it without finding any swatches online, which is not something I usually do! Cargo palettes for me are a little hit-or-miss. Some can be powdery, which I think this one is. This palette follows the trend for this Spring with light, earthy, washes of color. There's not much that's bold about this palette. Bondi is the closest thing to a bold there is.
It also comes with a double-ended brush that I haven't tried yet, and a black eyeliner pencil that I used in this look, but probably won't again. I've never gotten fallout from an eye pencil before using this one. I seriously had a dusting of black powder on my cheeks! It also smudged into my lower eyelid crease pretty much immediately. Raccoon eyes before I even left the bathroom! What's up, Cargo?
If you're into soft, earthy colors like I am, you might like this palette. Domain, which looks like it's going to be a bold emerald green in the pan, comes out more mossy and yellow-toned on my skin. Bridge takes on a lovely gold shimmer. I'm using Beach as an inner corner highlight in my look, and I love it. It really works well with my brown eyes.
The pale mattes in this palette like Opera and Joey (well, in most palettes, lately) just blend into my skin and barely show up on camera, though they are there. They make good base colors for my pale skin, but don't build up much beyond that. Koala and Ferry are nicely pigmented and smooth mattes.
I also tried a new Cargo lipstick for this look, and though they call it a 'wine' color, it leans very brown on me. I do like it, though.
I do so love a bit of gold and green on my lids. I lined them with Domain and then put the black pencil over it to darken it up.
What I used for this look: Luminess Air Porcelain, Ultra2 foundation, Tulip blush and Glow highlighter, Cargo Down Under Eye Shadow palette, Cargo Dolce lipstick, Bare Minerals Lash Domination mascara, Vincent Longo Micro Eyebrow Pencil in Brunette, and UD Original Eye Primer.
What do you think of the Cargo Down Under Eye Shadow palette? Have you tried any of the Fiona Styles new line of makeup?
