Scrub-a-Dub-Dub, Scrub For Men In A Tub #ValentiaExfoliatingScrubforMen

Press Sample.  All opinions are my own.
Hello, Fireflies!

I'm pretty excited to be sharing another Valentia product review with you today!  But, but, you may be thinking, I've read your Valentia reviews before... something's different!  There's something darker, mysterious, maybe even ...forbidden... about this product.  Yes, I say.  It's for MEN. *gasp*

Normally, I'm all about gender equality, and even gender neutrality.  Is there any difference between the skin of a man and the skin of a woman?  Maybe.  Facial skin that can support the growth of a beard is thicker, and thicker skin doesn't get as wrinkly and crepey as thinner skin.

I think the main difference, though, is societal.  I don't know a lot of men that are into skincare.  I know that my own husband didn't start using it until I really got into it.  The main issues he has with his skin are large pores on his nose from wearing glasses, and sun damage on his bald head.  I've gotten him in a fairly regular habit now of using products with Retinol, and those help a lot, but I still saw a lot of clogged pores on his head.  I knew that an exfoliator would help unclog his oily skin and remove damaged skin so that his pate would look smoother, less oily, and clearer, so I was pretty happy that agreed to help test this product for me.

Right away, it's easy to tell this manly scrub apart from the stuff I use.  The packaging is dark and bold.  The scent of the scrub isn't strong, but it definitely has notes I recognize from men's cologne.  My husband doesn't mind using my skincare, and we both love anything with a citrus scent, but there's something appealing about the more masculine scent on him.  I also love it when he wears cologne, so maybe the scent is more for me, than for him....

The scrub is a light creamy paste chock full of natural exfoliators like pumice, apricot shells and olive seeds.  It's definitely a gritty scrub, so I had to make sure Mr. LitFromWithin didn't scrub too hard or too often.  He likes using it in the shower about three times a week.

In addition to the scrubbies, this also uses Witch Hazel to tighten pores and MSM to lighten scars.  There are also some great natural oils in here, like Safflower, coconut, and almond oil.  They not only moisturize and protect, but they also contain fatty acids and nutrients to nourish the skin.

Dark and bold nailart, just like the scrub packaging! The base is Orly Liquid Vinyl, and the stripes are done with Maybelline Bold Gold.
Best of all, his bald pate has never looked better.  He has way fewer blemishes, the pores are tighter and cleaner, and the skin is smoother.  Regular exfoliation is also helping the Retinol serums he uses do a better job, too!  And, he likes the scrub.  It feels good, smells nice, and he likes the way his skin feels when he uses it.  Two thumbs up from Mr. LitFromWithin.

For more information, or to purchase, you can find Valentia on Facebook, Instagram, their website, or on Amazon, where their Exfoliating Scrub For Men currently retails for $20.  Valentia offers a lifetime guarantee, so you can try it risk-free.
