Ready for another mask review? I knew you were! Get ready to get golden with the iBeauty Gold Collagen mask!
This is how I feel about a lot of my beauty journey. I've discovered so many wonderful things to put on my face. I've tried mud from all over the world, and ingredients from rare plant oils to common snail slime. If I can't get a gold medal for masking, at least I can try a gold mask.
Gold itself is supposed to have skin-enhancing properties, but there's some debate as to how much can be absorbed through the skin. The serum the mask is bathed in is also good for the skin, with ingredients like collagen, allantoin, Vitamin E, and Rose essence.
Each mask comes packaged securely in it's own flat tray, floating on the serum, like some kind of golden pancake. The mask itself is firm, gelatinous and thick, and a little slippery from the serum. It's not the kind of mask you can put on and it stays in place. This is a mask you want to use when you've got a few minutes to lay down and close your eyes. I had to close my eyes and mouth because I couldn't keep the mask from sliding over them.
Even with my oily skin, I love a moisturizing, cooling mask. You can put these masks in the fridge for a nice treat on a hot day to amp up the de-puffing qualities. You can see that my face is quite dewy from the mask, and my skin felt very plump and smooth. This would be great for a quick treatment before a special night out, or before taking that picture at the DMV...
Even if you're using a daily serum, you might be surprised at how nice an intense mask treatment can feel. I like using a calming toner like rose water before masking to help increase the effectiveness of my masks, too. Steaming can also open the pores and help with serum absorption, too.
Nailart inspired by the Gold mask packaging. The base is OPI Over and Over A-Gwen, with details painted with my white and gold stripers. |
Have you tried gold sheet masks?
