Color me Fall #ChallengeYourNailArt #FallingForNailArt

Hello, Fireflies!

Today's Challenge Your Nail Art prompt is for Fall Colors.  I did this mani for a nail group I'm in, for a Fall Glitter look, and thought it would work for today's challenge, too.  I love the gold and red together, with a stripe of black.

I laid down a base color of Wet 'n Wild Pot of Gold, and then added Candy Lacquer Big MacIntosh to the bottom 2/3rd of the nail.

Swish of red and black striper, popped on a red rhinestone, and Bob's your uncle, and Fanny's your aunt.

Bottle shot:  Wet 'n Wild Pot of Gold, Candy Lacquer Big Macintosh, and nail art stripers in red and black.

What are your favorite Fall colors?

Falling for Nail Art - Glittery Crunchy Leaves

Hello, Fireflies!

For the Crunchy Leaves challenge today, I decided to go for a bomb. Glitter Bomb that is.

Daring Digits Fallen Leaves.

I started with 2 coats of Daring Digits Fallen Leaves.  Appropriate name, right? Nice green-tinted glitter with lots of micro holo. A little too sheer to be worn on its own, though.

Candy Lacquer Mulled Cider

I liked the green and brown base, but really wanted the reds and golds of dried fallen leaves, so I layered Candy Lacquer Mulled Cider over it.

This pix is blurred a little - love that holo and gold pop!

love that holo and gold pop!

It's a simple concept, but I really love how you can see some of the green and brown on the bottom, like a forest floor, and then the bright reds and golds on top.

I wish we had color change here in Florida, but I have lots of memories of Fall growing up, too.  Now, if only the pine needles quit dropping and covering everything, that would be great!

Arou-NEON the World

Hello, Fireflies!

This month's challenge for the NCC is "Around the World" and this week's EcoPolo challenge is Neon, so I'm being oh-so-very-clever and combining the two.

I started off with a base coat of white, and then started laying on Candy Lacquer Granny Smith.  I think it took 3-4 thick coats to get it this opaque, so I think I'll use a different undie next time.

It definitely reminds me of those Salon Perfect neons I used earlier in the summer.  I'm pretty sure Granny Smith came out first, I just hadn't used it before now.

I was inspired by the 'around the world' challenge to do my first Tribal mani.

I'm guessing there are no neon tribes.  That would be something, though.  They're the radioactive people.

Bottle shot:  Milani White on the Spot, Candy Lacquer Granny Smith, and stripers in dark blue, teal, and orange.

If you'd like more information about Candy Lacquer, she can be found on Facebook, and her BigCartel store.

Ready to join the neon tribe?

Oh, Sugar, Oh Honey Honey, you are my Candy Girl..

If you're old enough to remember the song that the title of this post comes from, then we're contemporaries!  I used to love that song so much.  And, it came to mind when I decided to show you two polishes from Candy Lacquer today.

First up, Orly Shockwave.  Such a gorgeous blue, and so shiny.  My camera couldn't seem to focus on the polish!  I love Orly polishes, but they really outdid themselves with this color.

It seemed to make good undies for Candy Lacquer Sugar Daddy, a colorful blend of microglitters that leans blue and purple.  No worries with application, and you can see that it's almost opaque in two coats.

Next, OPI Suzi Takes the Wheel, a khaki color.  The goopy mess on my pointer and ring finger are because I was too hasty with painting over the glue base, and it wasn't quite dry yet.  OPI rarely has a problem with formula or application for me.

Sugar Baby is full of all kinds of pastel 'baby' colors in a clear base, but the mesh of all the microglitters gives it a pale grey tone to me, which is why I loved it over Suzi Takes the Wheel.

I like that it's soft and pastel, but not saccharine or too girly.

I'm glad I have my Sugar Daddy!... and my 'Sugar Daddy' too!
