Mystic-al Airbrushing and More from #LuminessAir

Press Samples.  All opinions are my own.
Hello, Fireflies!

I can't believe I was ever scared of airbrush makeup.  I've been loving all the airbrush makeup I've gotten to try from Luminess, and it just keeps getting better.  I never thought I'd like a full-coverage foundation before, but Luminess Mystic is a game changer for me.

The Purple Primer for Pimples #michaeltoddusa

Press Sample.  All opinions are my own.
Hello, Fireflies!

Having oily, aging skin is the weirdest combination.  I don't have a lot of wrinkles, but I'm still getting pimples like a teenager.  A lot of the products for clear skin are designed for teens who have young, resilient skin, and can be too harsh for me.  But, every once in a while, I come across a product that seems *made* for my particular skin issues, like Michael Todd Mattifying Gel Corrector!

My Oily Skin Has Been Waiting For #ForlanBBCream

Press Sample.  All opinions are my own.
Hello, Fireflies!

As a beauty blogger who tests a lot of skincare, I'm used to regimens that take multiple steps.  I'm also constantly trying to walk the line of finding products that are nourishing to my aging skin, but don't exacerbate my oily, blemish-prone skin.  Forlan BB Cream is a one-step product that moisturizes, has anti-aging properties, and leaves my skin smooth and ready for makeup - and no breakouts!

Blemish-Busting Makeup Favorites!

Some products provided for review, and some purchased by me.  All opinions are my own.
Hello, Fireflies!

As little as a year ago, I felt like the only woman on the planet over 40 still getting pimples.  I know now that pimples don't end with puberty, and there are lots of different skin types out there with lots of different concerns.

I have to admit, since following the Tsecret oil cleansing method once a day, my skin has never been more clear, and if I skip a couple of days, I can tell the difference.  I still need blemish zapping and covering products in my arsenal, and I've gathered a few of my favorites to show you!

My Current "Flawless Face" Routine with Cover F/X, Cara Cosmetics, and Yalmeh #Yalmeh #CoverFX, #CaraCosmetics

Products provided for review.  All opinions are my own.

Hello, Fireflies!

I love testing lots of different makeup and skincare, but lately, I have found my self reaching for these 5 things when I want to make sure that my face looks the best that it can.

I don't like a full-coverage makeup, usually, because I think it looks weird to not have any texture in the face, but I think that you could definitely add more coverage, especially with the foundation, if you wanted more coverage.

Hello, Fireflies!

I am a recent, and enthusiastic convert to the Cover FX brand.  I just love that they are about makeup that is also skincare, and about helping people look and *feel* their best. I was given the opportunity to test and review their stable of primers, and I'd love to share with you what I thought about them!

Impulse Cosmetics

Hello, Fireflies!

Have you heard of Impulse Cosmetics?  I don't remember how I heard about this little Indie cosmetics company, but they have some really cool, wild makeup.

I decided to try some of their lippies and eyeshadows.

Impulse Cosmetics

Impulse Cosmetics' 'claim to fame' as it were is their opaque, matte lipstick. Dahlia, on the end, is one of those.  The rest are from their new line of Metallics.  In order, from left to right: Thrill, Tough Love, Forget Me Not, Boggart, and Dahlia.

Impulse Cosmetics Thrill, Tough Love, Forget Me Not, Boggart, and Dahlia.

Here you can see each one matched up with its name.  The colors are vibrant! I wish they were in a real lipstick bullet and not a tube, because I had a little trouble with application.  I am going to have to invest in a good lip brush, I think.  I've only tried Boggart, the emerald green, on my lips so far, and it was pretty patchy when applied straight from the tube.

Thrill, Tough Love, Forget Me Not, Boggart, and Dahlia.

In addition to the lippies, I bought their signature eyeshadow primer, Glam Glue, and three mineral shadows.  I love their packaging!

I love their packaging!

I haven't tried this on my eyes yet, but I found it pleasant on the skin.  It feels light and a little bit sticky, and you can't really see it on its own.

I swatched the three shadows over the Glam Glue.  Wow!  Left to right: Poseidon, Macabre Moon, and Hocus Pocus.

I've never seen colors like these.  If you'd like to see more from Impulse Cosmetics, you can find them on HERE on Facebook and their Etsy shop. (not affiliate links)
