After You Labor, Pamper! #AntiquityBC

Press Sample.  All opinions are my own.
Hello, Fireflies!

Today is Labor Day, a day that has its roots in the Labor movement, but has come to mean having a day off from work.  If you're working hard today, you're gonna wish you had one of these amazing soaps from Antiquity BC to clean off with afterwards!

Purple and Gold Swirls

Hello, Fireflies!

As of right now, I don't know if the AIS group is going to continue with the Sunday Challenges, and if so, what they're going to look like going forward.  In the meantime, I'm still stamping, and I'll keep trying to post my latest attempts here on Sundays.

Chocolate Holo Swirls

Hello, Fireflies!

It's nearly the end of the month, and I've just time to squeak in the last nail art for this month's NCC challenge of Candy and Sweets.  My favorite treat is probably chocolate, and I tried a new kind this month that I thought was lovely enough to eat - and paint!

Pink Plastic Pull-Off

Hello, Fireflies!

One of my favorite (and easiest) ways to create nail art is by layering polishes over some tape or vinyls and then revealing a colorful pattern when the tape comes off.  For today's post, I've pulled some nail art from the vault that pairs a few pink polishes with some plastic!

Berry Good Stamping

Hello, Fireflies!

AIS has temporarily suspended official themes for Stamping Sunday, but that isn't going to stop me from stamping! I've come up with my own theme today - two ways I've used one of my new favorite polishes in stamping nail art!

Swirls in Purple and Gold

Hello, Fireflies!

When I saw this nail art from Les Ongles de Lucie, I loved it immediately, and knew I'd have to try it, even if I couldn't do it justice.

I started with Koco Plum's The Word, an orchid color with a lovely subtle gold shimmer.

A black striping brush, a steady hand, and stopping constantly to check Lucie's original art is what I needed for this step!

I filled in the gaps with a white striper for two reasons:  1) to help clean up some of the black lines, and 2) to make the gold glitter in the next step show up better.  I was not doing all this work and not have the glitter show up.

I do love it at this stage, too.  I could have just put on some topcoat.

Gold glitter and a gold stud complete the look.

I lurve this.  Someone told me that it reminded them of The Nightmare Before Christmas, and I totally see that, but of course I had no idea when I was painting it.

I'm so grateful for the creative folks out there who inspire my nail art.  Do you take inspiration from what others have created, or do you look at raw colors and materials and get your ideas from that?

GOT - Oh, What A Hot (Pink) Cabana Boy!

Hello, Fireflies!

Today's Golden Oldie Thursday is Hawt Pink.  Hawt.  Because I'm hip like that.  This is Orly Oh, Cabana Boy, a hot pink with a purple shimmer.

I saw these awesome stamped Tropical Mermaid nails by IG alygaterr, and, while I don't have that stamp, it inspired me to draw these things on my nails.  I did say "inspired" not "copied'.  There is a reason for that...

I thought a nice contrast to the black and pink would be Maybelline Bold Gold.

I love how topcoat smooths out all the rough brushlines and makes it look like pink and gold, big, fluffy clouds.

What's your favorite way to wear hot pink? On your tips? On your lips? In your hair?  Or secretly, like sexy hot pink underwear?

Two posts today! The Spring Renewal challenge started today, and I did some pastel Easter Eggs.  Click HERE if you want to see them.
