July Subscription Boxes - Wantable, Ipsy, Beauty Box 5, and Birchbox

Hello, Fireflies!

Is it still July? Dang, missed it by a day.  Getting closer now! If you'd like to see the breakdown of my beauty sub boxes for July, there's a ton of pix after the jump!

July Wantable

Here's what I got from Wantable this month!

OFRA Blush B-29
Three Custom Color Specialists Warm Sage Wet/Dry Cake Eye Liner
Vincent Longo Perfect Shine Lip Gloss Lili La Bella
Mica Beauty Felt Tip Eyeliner
Tarina Tarantino Jewel Shadow Palette

I wish that my box came with a nice card, but at least this lists the items and what the retail cost is.  I'm so excited to get a Tarina Tarantino palette! Gorgeous colors, ready for fall.  I haven't really delved into these goodies much, but I do have some swatches for you.

The blush is the pink stripe, the eyeshadows are in the middle, the sleek black line is the Mica felt tip liner, and I've applied the sage cake liner both dry (L) and wet (R).  It's a little more metallic when applied wet.

I don't normally go for light lippies, but I think this Vincent Longo lipgloss in Lili La Bella is quite flattering!

July Ipsy

Ipsy continues to give me the most bang for my buck, even though some things were hits and some were misses.

The biggest miss this month was the Hang Ten Tanning Oil.  Hello, SPF 8? Are you trying to fry me? I'm a pale, pale girl who lives in Florida.  SPF 20+ or go home.  I hear it makes a decent light moisturizer, though, so if I don't rehome it, I may try that.

I'm not sure about the Clear Clinic blemish treatment.  On the one hand, I need all the help I can get.  On the other, this product seems to be mostly alcohol, which isn't great for any skin.  These days, I gravitate towards treatments that take into account that I'm over 40, but still have oily, acne-prone skin.

The Bare Minerals 5-in-1 eyeshadow in Divine Wine isn't very wine-colored, but it's a lovely deep taupe.  The Lord & Berry Black Silk eye liner is more grey than black, but it's very smooth, and a good size for packing in a travel bag.

My fave part of this bag - why, the nail polish, natch.  I did a little nail art with Models Own Red Sea.

Isn't that red jelly flakie squishiness beautiful?

July Beauty Box 5

I haven't tried most of this month's Beauty Box 5, except for the hair stuff.

I've seen lots of reviews just *raving* about Hask, and now I finally get to try it!  I used the Hask Deep Conditioning Treatment and the Miss Jessie's Multi-Cultural Curls.  I think I'll get one more use out of each packet.

Love the Hask! Love, love.  Can't wait to try the other products in the range.  It's got pretty good slip, and my hair felt soft and smelled nice.  The Miss Jessie's product is pretty good, but I'm not over the moon.  I needed to apply oil afterwards because my hair started to frizz, and my curls flattened out a little faster than I'd hoped.  The smell is very lemon-meringue, and stays around awhile.

Wow, look at the lighting differences.  I'm practically a blonde here.

July Birchbox

Birchbox stepped it up this month with lots of samples I liked, and one I even got to choose.

I love trying new oils, and the Caudalie Detox oil is so very light and absorbs quickly.  The Naobay oil smells like delicious lemon cookies.  I love a hair masque, and this month's box has TWO doses.  Of course, I wish it was labeled better, because I thought they were face masques.  Glad I figured that out before I put it on my face.

Benefit Posiebalm is a delicate pink-tinted lipbalm that feels light and moisturizing.

I got to choose which color of Ruffian nail polish I wanted out of three options.  It's nice to have a little control over your samples.  I chose the rose gold metallic polish, Rosary. I also used it in this nail art HERE

There was also a card for a free 1-yr subscription to Women's Health included in the box. and a booklet of tips and tricks to get a little healthier this month.

Whew! That's a lot of samples, and I'm getting a little overwhelmed.  It's exciting to try so many things, but I'm definitely going to re-evaluate when the subscriptions run out.  I end up stashing more little samples than I end up using!  Which box was your fave this month?
