I enjoy aromatherapy, and I've enjoyed using sleep masks, so I thought this lavender eye pillow from Eye Pillow Vacation would be the best of both worlds!
The pillow comes in different colors, and either an organic cotton or a satin cover. I received the black organic cotton cover. In retrospect, the dark cover shows alllll the dust and dog hair that is floating around my home, so maybe a different color would have been better! I prefer to ignore the dog hair, ya know. The cotton cover is thick and sturdy, and I have no doubt it will last for a long, long time.
Lots of things about this pillow last a long, long time, in fact. The lavender scent, for one. It was a little strong for me, and even my husband, with his chronically stuffed-up nose could smell it for a while. It was nice to have near my head, actually, and I think it would be great as a heating pad on my neck next time I hurt it, but not on my eyes.
I did put it in the freezer and use it as a cold pack. It's deceptively not cold on the outside, but the flax really holds in the temperature, and as it settles around your body, I could feel the cold acutely. Kinda neat how it does that, actually.
I haven't done any floral nail art in a while, and thought I'd take this opportunity to do a little lavender flower nailart! The base is LynBDesigns Make Your Life Spectacular, a lovely light lavender holo, and the flowers are made with dots of Stardust Polish Patty, a darker purple holo, and Elevation Polish Echinops, a subtle lavender holo, over some black stems.
If you like an eye pillow with a bit of heft to it but without the scent, they make one of those, too. If you are partial to the lavender scent, it currently retails on Amazon for $14.97.
