Though I'm not always as conscientious about what I put on or into my body as I should be, I'm trying to make better choices about my skincare. Naprodis, makers of Oblige by Nature, make it easy for me with their amazing French Clay masks and cleansers!
Oblige's Natural Body Scrub is made with natural and some organic ingredients to gently exfoliate the body while nourishing the skin.
No plastic beads here! Silica Sand, Organic Celtic Sea Salt, and French White Clay exfoliate and detoxify the skin gently, but firmly. Those of you who like to feel the exfoliation, this scrub is for you! I didn't find it to be irritating or painful, though. And the base is so creamy, full of plant oils and extracts, that it leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft, but not greasy - and it doesn't leave my tub slippery, either.
I like to leave it on for a few minutes while I put conditioner in my hair, or do other shower-ly type things. Kaolin clay works best if you give it some time on the skin.
Ingredients:
Organic Aloe Vera, Silica Sand, Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Celtic Sea Salt, Stearic acid, Vegetable Emulsifying Wax NF, White Montmorillonite Clay, Vegetable Glycerin, Potassium Sorbate (food grade preservative), Xanthan Gum, Rosemary Extract, Organic Vanilla Extract, Organic Herbal Extracts (Green Tea, Comfrey, California Poppy, Rhubarb, Dandelion)I would only change two things about this scrub, and they're more personal preference, really. One, I would add a scent. It has a natural, earthy, scent that is pleasant and comes from the natural oils and organic vanilla extract. I just tend to like stronger, often citrus, scents in my shower stuff. The other thing is the jar. The metal lid is hard for me to manipulate with wet hands, and the threads can get clogged with salt and sand, making it stick. I would love for this to be packaged in a squeeze tube with a nice, wide opening for easy dispensing.
One thing that I think Naprodis and Oblige by Nature excel at is creating really unique, niche products that I haven't seen anywhere else. Their Fluid Moisturizer is a fave of mine, especially for these hot Florida summers. And no one knows clay like like they do. They have a range of clay masks that I've not seen elsewhere. I was pretty excited to try their Gel Creme Clay Cleanser - another product I've never seen anywhere else.
Silky and smooth, with a texture between a creme and a gel, this cleanser comes in a glass bottle with a pump for easy dispensing. Now this is excellent packaging, and classy to boot.
Because this cleanser is clay-based, it should be left on the skin for a few minutes for the clay to work. This cleanser is for normal skin, but does wonders for my oily skin, too. The clay absorbs all that excess oil without stripping my skin or causing it to create extra oil. It has that same earthy, natural scent of most of Oblige's products, although it also comes in a lavender-scented version, too.
Getting older, but still having oily skin means that my skin looks and feels better when I choose gentle, but effective, means of removing oil and blemish-causing debris. I don't want to get rid of blemishes with techniques or products that will give me more wrinkles! So far, everything I've tried from Naprodis has helped my skin look and feel its best.
My nail art today is inspired by the colors of these products, and the leaf logo! I used Impala Biquini de Bolinha and Top Blanc for my base, and stamped the leaf pattern using Hit The Bottle Absinthe Minded and my UC 2-02 plate.
I continue to be a big fan of Naprodis and Oblige by Nature! All of their products are made with the highest quality ingredients - natural, organic when possible, vegetarian/vegan-friendly, and cruelty-free. They contain no synthetic waxes, chemicals or fragrances, parabens, or sulfates.
For more information, or to purchase, you can find Naprodis and Oblige by Nature on their website, where this cleanser retails for $24.95, and this body scrub retails for $19.95. You can also find them on Facebook.
