Everyone who gets enough sleep, raise their hand! Anyone? I'm not sure I could ever fully satisfy my desire for sleep, though it often eludes me when it's time to go to bed! As a result, when I wake up, my eyes are often puffy and tired-looking, with dark shadows underneath them. I love using eye gels to help cool and de-puff, but they don't always work to reduce the discoloration, so I was hoping that I would see some results with Ageless Derma Eye Cream.
This eye cream has some powerful ingredients, including Retinol, and Vitamins C, E, and K. If you're not used to using a Retinol, Ageless Derma suggests using the product once every few days and build up to using it twice a day. I personally didn't experience any sensitivity issues with redness or peeling while using this eye cream.
If you're sensitive to silicones, this cream does have Dimethicone in it. I actually like some of my skin care to have silicone because I like the way it glides over my skin - especially in the delicate under-eye area where tugging can be a problem. The cream does have a nice texture - a little bit thick and creamy, is quick to absorb, has a slight yellow tint to it, and no smell at all that I can discern.
I really like the packaging of this eye cream. The black and silver is chic, the bottle is dark, so it keeps out more light, and the pump keeps air and contaminants out of the cream. As with just about every eye cream I've ever tried, the pump can be a little over-zealous in delivering product. I only need about 1/2 a pump for both eyes, so I have to use a light touch with the pump. Of course, if I overdo it, this cream is great everywhere on my face, and even on my hands.
Some under-eye discoloration is hereditary, and there aren't really any over-the-counter solutions to change that. A lot of discoloration is due to bruising when the delicate capillaries under the eye break. Vitamin K has been shown to heal bruising faster and break up the discoloration. Some of my discoloration I believe is from that, but some is because I have uneven fat pads under my eyes. One of my eyes just has more shadow from my fat cheeks. Vitamin C does help brighten the skin, but I'll need concealer to create the illusion of light where there is shadow.
After using this cream for a few weeks, I've seen some small changes that have impressed me! I've needed less concealer under my eyes, and some days, I've gone without, and just used foundation. I'll sometimes get crusty, puffy eyes if I wear a waterproof eyeliner or mascara the day before, and using this eye cream helps bring down the puffiness. I still have the shadow under my one eye, but I feel like the discoloration under both eyes is less than it was a month ago.
I went for shiny and sharp with today's nailart, inspired by the Ageless Derma packaging. Finger Paints Patent Leather Black is a shiny, shiny black! I used Orly Mirrorball framed with a silver striper in the middle.
If you'd like more information about Ageless Derma, they can be found on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, their own website, and Amazon.com, where this Eye Cream currently sells for $39. I've also reviewed their cleanser, and amazing Pressed Mineral Foundation, if you're interested in my thoughts on their product line.
