Blue and Purple in Harmony

Hello, Fireflies!

Last year, I was allllll about the glitters, especially the milky white and grey glitter bases.  In my mad crush over holos, I ignored my first Indie loves.

Well, today's post is about rectifying that situation.  Take a gander at this beauty, Emily de Molly Harmony, a milky light grey with blue, purple, and white glitters.

I wanted to play around with the colors in the glitters, so I picked Orly It's Up To Blue as a pretty good match for the metallic blue glitters in Harmony.

Not only is Nails Inc Regents Palace a great metallic purple, I'm loving these LE crystal-encrusted bottles.  So posh.  What? I can pretend they're diamonds if I want to.

Harmony really looks best with some topcoat, and that helps to bring all the colors together, too.  Yay, topcoat, FTW!

topcoat, FTW!

I thought it was fun to play with the colors in the glitter.  Would you add nail art at all, or choose different colors?

Forces of Nature

Hello, Fireflies!

I'm excited to show you these.. even though pretty much everyone else has already heard of these great Emily de Molly "Forces" polishes, they are new to me.  I wasn't expecting them to live up to the hype... but I admit it.  I love them.

Before I speak to each individual polish, I want to say something about the circle glitters in all three.

I was, frankly, expecting to hate them.

My nails are small, and typically, what I see with these large glitters is that they overwhelm my nails.  These circles were the perfect size - I could even get 2 on some of my nails!  I couldn't believe it.  I REALLY couldn't believe that these polishes looked as good on me as they did in all the swatches I've seen.

First up, Oceanic Forces.

Emily de Molly Oceanic Forces

This is everything a teal jelly glitter polish should be.  The jelly makes for light and dark areas, and the large and small holo and blue glitters distort the light to give differences in depth, just like an ocean bed.

Emily de Molly Oceanic Forces is like an ocean bed.

Cosmic Forces is a dark purple jelly with holo glitters that flash pink, purple, and blue.

I was so surprised by the flashes of blue!  That holo circle glitter on my pinkie is flashing the most beautiful cobalt blue.  Awesome formula; beautiful polish.

Dark Forces is a black jelly with silver holo glitters that flash all the colors of the rainbow.

This was the only formula that gave me a little trouble - I needed three coats to even it out, and getting the circle glitters out of the bottle was a real hassle.  I don't know why this one was difficult, because the other two Forces were easy and lovely formulas.

I can't believe how the circle glitters look so awesome and different in each of these polishes.  Really great combinations of colors and textures in all three of these.  I'm glad I finally caved and got all three of them!  Emily de Molly is an Australian Indie, but she does sell through stocklists that ship to the US, like Llarowe.

Which is your fave?

Dark and Colorful

Black polish used to be so .... Goth.  Thank goodness that trend has changed, and now black is chic, fun, and mainstream.  Case in point, this interesting polish from Emily de Molly:

Muted Madness.  Bright, carnival-inspired matte glitters... in a black base?  And yet, it works.  I would have liked a little more glitter, but otherwise, I like it.

I did a dotted French tip in Milani White on the Spot.  Do you think it would look better if I mimicked the red, green, and blue glitters?

This next polish isn't quite black, but it is a very dark eggplant purple, with a heavy gold shimmer. If you can say the name of this polish without thinking of Wayne's World and headbanging in the car with all your friends, you are a stronger person than I am.

NailNation 3000 Bohemian Rhapsody.

I love NailNation holos, but she even has some glitters that I'm really liking!  It's so pretty, it can almost make me forget about that hangnail I tore off before I took the pix.  What was I thinking?!

Emily de Molly is a brand out of Australia, and NailNation 3000 is made in the US, but you can find both on Llarowe.
