What Does The Fox (Holo Skittle) Say?
Hello, Fireflies!
This is the last NCC skittle challenge this month! This isn't a nail art I gravitate to, so it was fun to think of different ways to wear it. Challenges definitely help keep me from doing the same old, same old..
So, this skittle was inspired by the colors in the nail decoration I decided to use for this look: pink and blue.
The pink (an awesome freebie sent with an order I placed) is Nail Nation 3000 Inner Flame, a hot pink holo. The blue is Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Tea Is Soothing, I Wish To Be Tense, a light blue holo from her Buffy The Vampire Slayer-inspired collection. The glitter is Funfetti from (apparently defunct) Makeup Your Face.
And, my inspiration, a little fox nail decoration, with pink and blue stones in the tail! Let's all say it together, now: AWWWWWWWWW.
I know, right?
Double the foxes, double the cute! If you love nail decorations, Ebay is the place to go. The cheapest prices are from sellers in China, but they can take quite a while to ship to the USA. Your Mileage May Vary.
I love how Funfetti's glitters compliment the blue and pink holos, but stay soft because of the milky base.
I admit, most times after I take the pix, the nail decorations come right off, because otherwise I'll just pick them off. But I dearly love sticking things on my nails! How do you feel about nail decorations?

Blue and Purple in Harmony
Hello, Fireflies!
Last year, I was allllll about the glitters, especially the milky white and grey glitter bases. In my mad crush over holos, I ignored my first Indie loves.
Well, today's post is about rectifying that situation. Take a gander at this beauty, Emily de Molly Harmony, a milky light grey with blue, purple, and white glitters.
I wanted to play around with the colors in the glitters, so I picked Orly It's Up To Blue as a pretty good match for the metallic blue glitters in Harmony.
Not only is Nails Inc Regents Palace a great metallic purple, I'm loving these LE crystal-encrusted bottles. So posh. What? I can pretend they're diamonds if I want to.
Harmony really looks best with some topcoat, and that helps to bring all the colors together, too. Yay, topcoat, FTW!
I thought it was fun to play with the colors in the glitter. Would you add nail art at all, or choose different colors?

Windestine-a-palooza
I love a good sale, so when Windestine had one, I picked up some pretties that I'd been looking at for awhile.
Frozen Wilderness. I saw this on a friend's nails, and fell in love, hard. It was almost painful to have to wait for this one. I don't know why, but I love coppery glitters. This is with no undies, and there is great glitter distribution and no VNL. Wonderful formula!
I decided to embellish with a half-moon mani using Kleancolor Metallic Orange and a black striper. I thought this was fun and cute.
Bottle shot, on its end. Ta-da!
I ended up with a few other orange and orange-like variations of glitter, too. This is Twirling Upwards with an accent of Frozen Wilderness. Love that juicy orange and gold glitter.
I received Peach Ice as a mini, but actually bought it as a full-size with the sale. I love these peachy-melon colors, and the light glitters are a nice touch.
Leilani is a coral crelly with pastel glitter.. you can see the orange and orange-like theme, though, can't you?
The accent nail on that mani was Crushed Rose in Spring, and here it is on its own. This green is pretty unique in my collection - it's not an icy mint, nor a grass green. It's like a crelly pistachio? Not sure what to call it.
Pond Patrol and Coraline. Pond Patrol is a glitter-packed grassy green. It does evoke the vision of a pond choked with lily pads! This color is rich enough to compete with the amount of glitter, and it all distributes well on the nail.
Coraline came as a free mini, and I'm so glad I got to try it! Such a vivid punch of coral! It's very bright, though not neon. Great summer color.
On A Clear Night. Honestly, I must own a dozen of these black polishes with scattered holo glitter. They sucker me in *every* time, each one more beautiful than the last. If you don't own one already, this is a good one!
So many great polishes from this brand, and the hits keep on coming. Not a dud in the bunch! Did you have a fave or fave combination?
If you'd like more information about Windestine, you can find her on Facebook and Etsy.

Mod Lacquer - Southwest Spring Collection
Mod Lacquers is a new-to-me Indie. This collection caught my eye the moment I saw it - pastel milky-based glitter sandwiches? I wanted it.
First impressions are very good for this brand. I love the bottles, I like the labels - though they are only on the bottom, and I am wanting one on the side of the bottle, too. All the formulas were great - even distribution of glitter, no streaking, average dry time, and opaque at two coats.
Puesta Del Sol. This translates to "sunset," and it would be a very pretty sunset in lavender with blue, white, red, pink, and yellow.
Salida del Sol. Translates to 'sunrise' in English. This would be a very cheerful sunrise, indeed. Yellow base with orange, yellow, blue, green, and red.
Cielo Azul. "Blue sky." I love pastel blues, but this was my least favorite of the collection. I think it's the red glitter, actually. It is a little jarring for me in this mix.
Verde MontaƱa. "Green Mountain." This is my fave of the collection. Light pastel green, soothing pastel glitters - very reminiscent of Easter and Spring.
As a surprise (at least to me!) I was gifted a mini of their lacquer, Nonpareils. This is a white milky base with multi-colored glitters, much in the vein of KBShimmer Oh, Splat, and the like. Very cute and festive.

Wickedly Smitten Polish
I have three polishes from Smitten to show you today. I hope you like them as much as I do!
Hillary's Dream. I never used to wear black polish, and now I can't seem to get enough.. as long as it has a little something extra to it. Hillary's Dream has lots of extras! Lots of sparklies, mostly in green, red, and pink, with some blue. I used three coats to get it as opaque as I liked, but undies would probably help get there in one or two.
I wanted to see what additional colors would pop if I put on an opalescent glitter, so I used Hallucinate from Wet 'n Wild. The black almost disappears under all that bling! Definitely a look to get your nails noticed!
Pink Goes Good With Green!
This one is named after a line in the musical Wicked, where Glinda is making over Elphaba, and she puts a pink ribbon in Elphaba's hair and is delighted that the pink ribbon goes well with Elphaba's green complexion. I loved that part of the play, so I put a pink ribbon on, too, using Revlon Electric Pink.
Sometimes, Blogger just changes my pix orientation. I don't know how to fix it, so we'll just pretend these bottles are stacked! Smitten Polish Pink Goes Good With Green and Revlon Electric Pink.
My birthday present from hubby this year was tickets to see Wicked in Orlando. I loved the dragon clock on the top of the stage - so epic.
I wish I'd had my Smitten Polish in time for the show! Psst, Pink Goes Good With Green!
Adeste Fidelis. I can't say the name of this polish, every time I try, I end up singing it.
This could be another version of Pink Goes Good With Green! I love the pale green glitter in this, it looks great with the gold and pink. This is my fave!
Which one makes you feel Wickedly Smitten?

Indie January - Silly Bee's Chickadees
I think this Indie polish would win the award for the Cutest. Labels. Evah! I've seen the girl wear a few different outfits, too, depending on the polish or season. Too cute.
I really liked the polishes I bought, too. I have two to show you today!
Orange You A Honeydew. I admit it, it was the pale green glitters that sucked me into buying this one. I don't know why, I just love them. The formula on this was a little bumpy, which is why I want to show you what it looks like without topcoat first:
And, so you can see that it smooths right out with topcoat. I used Seche Vite here.
I just love this color combination! All the glitter mixes from this collection can be purchased as a 'smoothie' in a milky base like I did, or as a 'cocktail' in a clear base. Pretty smart!
Bananamelon Thump. It's hard to tell from my pictures, but the base color of this polish is tinted a slight pink/peach color. I think this is another great color combination. Yellow, peach, and pink glitters floating in a milky base - very fresh and light.
I'm in a colored-base phase of Indies, but I know a lot of folks prefer the clear base so they can choose their own combinations. Silly Bee did such a smart thing by offering the glitter mixes both ways. Which do you prefer?
