The Spring collex for Dandy Nails has all my weaknesses - grey, milky bases, blue.. Let's see if you can resist better than I did!
Started Out With A Kiss. Ever so sheer and demure. I really could have used undies with this polish. I also had quite a bit of glitter stuck on the bottle, so maybe it was supposed to be more dense on the nail. I decided to use it as one layer for a multi-glittered look.
I added Elevation Polish Daisen, and I like the combo. Lookie at those circle glitters! Too cool.
Bound To Fall. Oh, grey jelly with blue glitter makes me weak in the knees. Especially flakies.
I thought this color would be a great compliment to a nail art by Robin Moses I'd seen with daisies. Her tutorial is on You Tube, and she could explain the process better than I could.
I used Zoya Bevin and a little white for the petals, Zoya Cheryl and Illamasqua Gamma for the daisy centers.
Piece of Youth. Have you seen the movie, "My Cousin Vinnie"? If you have, then you know how I want to pronounce the name of this polish. Youts. haha!
Lovely turquoise with yellow glitters! Like spring in a bottle. Which made me think of another daisy nail art I wanted to try, on Pinterest from Ruth's Nail Art. Sunshine-y daisies!
I used a white nail art striper for the petals, and Zoya Pippa for the centers.
Paranoia In Bloom. This one was hard to photograph, but so beautiful! A dark teal base with teal, blue, purple, and maybe holo microglitters that come together as a foil-looking polish.
I wanted to see what it would look like with more bling, so I used F4 Rockerfeller. I like this glitter, but I'm not sure I did it any favors using it here. I think it would look better with a glitter that was more gold, less white.
So, did you (bound to) Fall for Dandy Nails? It started with (a kiss) WonderWall for me, and my love affair with Dandy Nails has been strong ever since. I wouldn't want to make her Paranoid (in bloom) by stalking her, but this collection definitely has a Piece of my (Youth) heart.

The Dregs? I don't think so!
These polishes from Tough As Nails may be named for the dregs of society, but they are the creme de la creme of polishes! I loved them all.
The Redundant Woman. A lavender creme with a pink shimmer that was evident on the nail, but hard to capture with the camera.
My bottle shot didn't come out... but I used OPI Road House Blues and Here Today, Aragon Tomorrow (mixed with some white) for the flowers. I got the idea from Set in Lacquer's nail art.
East End Girl. Pale blue with aqua shimmer. This is two coats; I would have used a third if I was wearing it alone, but I knew I wanted to try it with some glitter.
I couldn't decide which glitter, so I tested two. This is Lush Lacquer Seas The Moment - a mix of bright green, white, and blue. Very eye-catching.
I was also drawn to this subtle glitter from F4 Polish, Abominable. The small white glitters mute the blue background, and make the turquoise pop.
Thumb is East End Girl alone, index and middle with Abominable, and ring and pinkie with Seas The Moment. Which do you like more? I can't decide...
Magdalene's Laundry Service. A lovely sheer pink with pink, rose, and gold glitters. Very pretty and demure.
I wanted to give it a harder edge, so I paired with Mentality Gregarious - a microglitter mix of black and silver.
Builder's Tea. Creamy light brown with flecks of bronze and black. One of my fave combinations of colors.
This one just seemed to want a retro floral pattern, so I went with it. I used Revlon Electric Pink and Plum Baby for the flowers.
I loved how these polishes evoked a feeling of hard and soft for me. Edgy, but beautiful. All were easy to apply, opaque in 2-3 coats, no dragging of glitter. And I love her new square bottles.

The days of wine... and more wine
I want to show you a few polishes today that all have some element of a wine or burgundy color to them... wine, and more wine.
First up, my first Fanservice nails polish, Gwen Cooper.
This polish was excellent. I loved the complexity of the glitters, the easiness of the formula. I loved the color. I think I went around all day shoving my hands under my husband's nose and asking him, 'doesn't this look great? Isn't this the most beautiful polish ever?" He had me Baker Acted soon after.
Maybe I exaggerate.. a little. I do like this polish, a lot, though.
This next one starts off green. I know, not wine. Bear with me. Revlon Rainforest, a jewel-tone dark green with microglitter sparkles.
Layered over it, a beauty from F4 Polish, Summer Melon. I've managed to make it look not-quite-as-summery by layering it over the dark green, which makes the pink pop, and the background meld with the burgundy and black glitter.
And, last, but not least, is an OPI lemming I had to go looking for, Pepe's Purple Passion (I'm not a shrimp! I'm a King Prawn!)
Dark and lovey, with a very subtle glass fleck, but maybe too dark for that day - you can see that it dries slightly darker than the bottle color.
So, I lightened it up with a glitter from Tokidoki, Ciao Ciao. I think they go so well together!
Now, who is ready for a glass of wine, and who wants it with a bottle of wine polish?
