Pure Bentonite Healing Clay Masks For Me and the Mister!

Product provided for review.  All opinions are my own.
Hello, Fireflies!

Oily skin, I has it.  My husband also has it.  On the plus side, it means we don't have as many wrinkles as we could have.  On the negative, we get pimples and blocked pores, greasy and dull skin if we don't take care to balance our oil production.  One of my favorite things to do to help balance my skin is to use a clay mask, like one made from Pure Body Naturals Ultra Youth Indian Healing Clay

Get Lucky Nail Art Challenge - Twisted Green

Hello, Fireflies!

Welcome to the first day of the Get Lucky Nail Art Challenge!  Today's mani is simply... mahvelous.  I wanted this polish, thought I'd missed my chance, and then got it in a blog sale.  This is Jindie Nails Don't Get It Citrus Twisted.

I did layer down a base coat of white because I wanted that lime green to really POP.  And, oh, is it LIME.  That is neon green realness! Love all the different citrusy colors of glitters in this mix.  Makes me want a big ol' margarita.

Of course, I'm always up for a margarita, so that's not saying much.  But isn't it green and springy and citrusy?

Red Rainbow

Hello, Fireflies!

I have a very simple nail art for you today, just a glitter with a creamy accent.

Jindie Nails Midnight Rainbow, and Julep Anisa

This gorgeous black jelly with holo rainbow circle glitters is Jindie Nails Midnight Rainbow. I wish it were a tad more opaque - next time, I will probably use one layer of black creme underneath.

I thought that the dark red of Julep Anisa went really well with the glowing red circle glitters. I don't wear red very often, but I love blood reds like this one.

ETA (3/4) - Oops, forgot I had this pix of both hands! Nubbins!

Are you still loving the circle glitters, too? Or is the red cream more to your taste?

Stamping Sunday - Turkey can't hide!

Hi, Fireflies! Today's Stamping Sunday is all about the gobblin' good time this time of year.  I started with a lovely sage holo from Jindie Nails, called Olive You.

Nice formula, 2 easy coats.  A subtle linear, but very pretty!

I'd been waiting to use my Fall holiday plate W119 from Winstonia.  Some of the stamps worked better than others, though.

I used Orly Enchanted Forest for all the greenery, including the 'tablescape' for the cooked turkey on my thumb - which just did *not* want to stamp.  I finally went over it with a teeny tiny brush.  The feathers on my index and ring didn't stamp very well, either.  Kinda looks like the turkey is hiding in the brush or running away...

I totally dig the full turkey on my middle finger, though.  I used Julep Karmen to add the red details, and the body is a mix of Maybelline Bold Gold and Finger Paints Black Expressionism.

Are you celebrating Thanksgiving with a real turkey or a stamped turkey? or no turkey at all?

Psst! Two posts today!  Please check out my review of Perlier Imperial Honey Body Butter and the Julep Colorblock mani I did to go along with it!

The Makeup Show Orlando - Blogger Preview (and nails!)

One of the most exciting opportunities I've received as a Beauty Blogger of Central Florida is to attend The Makeup Show Orlando.  It is an amazing conference with workshops, demos, lectures, and lots and lots of makeup.

There are a lot of pix, so I'll put in a little break here.

Shiny, happy, purple

One pretty purple yesterday, and today, I have a trifecta of pretty purples for you. Oh, boy!

Tough As Nails Purple Twilight.  If you look closely, you'll see individual purple and pink microglitters, but they just blend together into this pinky-purple shiny goodness.  Easy formula, really pretty.

It doesn't even really look like a 'glitter' polish - almost like a glass fleck.

Jindie Nails Purple Rainbow.  This is a scattered holographic polish with a pink shimmer.  Another lovely polish.

The pink shimmer is most obvious where the light hits, up at the top of the nail in this pix.

But, I may have saved the best for last.  A polish I've had on my wishlist for awhile, bought 'dupes' of, but couldn't get the original off my mind.  And that's what this polish is - an Original.

OPI DS Original.  One of the landmark polishes of the OPI DS holographic collection.  What can I say that hasn't already been said?

After I wore it for a couple of days (unheard of these days, where I change my polish daily, if not more often) I tried stamping over it to preserve the polish just...one...more...day...

Yeah, I know.  Ruined.  I can't leave you with that image.

Ahhh, better.  Deep breaths.  What's your favorite purple polish?

Jindie, Oh me, Oh my!

When people ask me about my fave Indies, Jindie Nails is shooting up that list.  Her jelly sandwiches in a bottle are some of my fave polishes to wear - especially when I want a fun pop of color.

Nude Beach.  Cool, nude cream with lots of bright colors.  I imagine those neon dots are censoring all the unmentionables on that nude beach! There are also some small white stars in the mix, but not many.  She is coming out with a version called 86 the stars for all of these polishes which I would have preferred, but the random occasional star is fine.

Princess Consuela Banana-Hammock.  If you're a fan of Friends, you need this polish for the name alone!  It is a bright yellow crelly base with neon pink and orange hexes, and a few super-size hexes to boot.

Mango With The Flow.  My personal fave.  A perfect subtle peach with silver and white hexes and the most subtle of tiny holo flecks - just a flash here and there when you move your hands.  This polish is work-appropriate, and made me feel PURDY.

Have you tried Jindie Nails yet?  Are you more for the subtle with a hint of bling, or bright with a neon pop?

Indie January - Jindie Nails

Jindie Nails came out of nowhere and just bowled me over with her awesome polishes!  I can't wait to show you some of the neat creations she has!

Swoon.  This is the one that got me.  Blue milky base with blue and translucent neon green and pink glitters.  Tons of glitter that went on smoothly.  I need an industrial-size bottle of this one.

Candy Land Remix and Choose Me.  Choose me is a micro-glitter-shimmer in a berry color.  I thought it would be chunkier, but I'm glad it's not.  I decided to pair it with the Candy Land Remix (remix to include the small neon glitters as an LE edition)  They were fun to wear together.  I love the bright cheerfulness of these two polishes.

Just Claws (formerly Mrs. Claws.)  If you put this next to Choose Me, they are hard to tell apart, but on the nail they are different.  This is holo!  Beautiful, easy application.

I saw this look on Dressed Up Nails for a minimalist watercolor, and I really liked it, so I thought I could maybe do something with these polishes.  I added Peripera P026, a shimmery-chrome pink, and China Glaze On The Prowl, a red-toned purple, then used a black striper to create the wave.

Water 4 Elephants. Grey and blue together.. so awesome.  I painted an accent nail in Revlon Fashionista, a dark teal, and then tried a glitter gradient over that.. but Water 4 Elephants is opaque in one coat, so it's not the best for gradients.  I did a small French tip with the Fashionista on the other nails, and really liked the final result.

Bruised Ego.  This is a fun microglitter!  My ring finger is 2 or 3 coats of Bruised Ego with no undies!  I didn't think it would be opaque on its own, but I was wrong.  I used Pure Ice Black Rage on my thumb and Milani White on the Spot for my other fingers and tried a reverse glitter gradient.  Boy, howdy, was this not fun to clean from around my cuticles!  Tiny dots everywhere.  But so worth it.  Next time, I'll be neater!

Stomping Gilbert Grapes.  Very punny!  lol.  I really like this color combo in the milky glitter.  The purple, pink, and green go really well together.  Very pastoral, soothing, but the pink makes it fun.  Perfect Spring polish, too!

Jindie Nails has amazing customer service, too.  I see her really going above and beyond to make sure that her customers are taken care of.

Does customer service for Indies mean anything when you're shopping, or is it just about the polish?  Do you like the fancy packaging and little notes?  What makes you want to go back to a particular Indie?
