Pure Bentonite Healing Clay Masks For Me and the Mister!

Product provided for review.  All opinions are my own.
Hello, Fireflies!

Oily skin, I has it.  My husband also has it.  On the plus side, it means we don't have as many wrinkles as we could have.  On the negative, we get pimples and blocked pores, greasy and dull skin if we don't take care to balance our oil production.  One of my favorite things to do to help balance my skin is to use a clay mask, like one made from Pure Body Naturals Ultra Youth Indian Healing Clay

Having a pre-made mask can be convenient, but DIY is infinitely cheaper, and I can control exactly what goes in it.  Also, pre-made masks can dry out or lose efficacy over time.  Having the clay by itself means that I can make my own practically indefinitely - and use the whole thing up!
The clay itself is fairly odorless, and very finely milled powder.  This Bentonite clay is natural, from Wyoming, USA, additive-free, and cruelty-free.
You can make a mask using just this clay and water, but I've found that sometimes clay gets clumpy when just mixed with water, and it's harder to get a smooth paste.  A little bit of Apple Cider Vinegar solves that problem.  I cobbled together this mask using 1 tsp of Pure Body Naturals Ultra Youth Indian Healing Clay to suck up the oil and toxins, 1 tsp of Aloe Vera gel to sooth and protect my skin, 3 tsp of water, and 3 drops of Green Tea Zest essential oil, for the Vitamin C and the delicious smell.

It came out a little thin, but you can adapt the recipe to your preference.  That amount was enough for a mask for both me and Mr. LitFromWithin. The family that masks together, stays together, right?  I love how soft and smooth it makes our skin, and it does wonders for his bald pate.

You can also use this clay to make a hair mask to detoxify the scalp, and to apply to minor skin irritations like bug bits and bee stings.
My mani today is inspired by the color of the clay and the packaging.  I used Jindie Nails What Are You Smokin' Mirrors, and then framed my nails with a white striper and then a red-violet striper over that. I love the big circle glitters in the Jindie polish!
If you like making your own clay masks, you might like using this Indian Healing Clay from Pure Body Naturals.  Currently, it's sold exclusively on Amazon.com.  The list price is $24.99, but it's currently on sale for $8.49.  If it doesn't work for you, they offer a 100% money-back guarantee.

For more information about Pure Body Naturals, you can find them on their website, and Facebook.
