Inspired by a Green Dress
Hello, Fireflies!
I guess I've always been a matchy-matchy kinda gal. I remember in high school, I was chastised by a friend for matching my socks to my shirt while wearing my Chuck Taylor sneakers - because no rebel would match their socks to their shirt, right? Well, this rebel does what she wants - and this dress called for some green and blue eyes and nails!

Stamping Sunday: Bright Flowers over Grunge Base
Hello, Fireflies!
Today's Sunday Stamping challenge is to stamp over a grungy base. I used three different polishes and a fan brush to create a distressed, grungy base, and then contrasted with bright, white flowers!

Dead Sea Mud Invigorates Me!

Product provided for review. All opinions are my own. |
I've become a great lover of skincare these days, of the lotions and potions, the tools and oils. But, there's nothing quite as satisfying as applying a great mask. My current faves are mud masks, with their ability to absorb oils and debris from my pores, and leave my face clean and fresh. This Pure and Essential Minerals Dead Sea Mud Mask does that, and a little bit more!

Peace Out!
Hello, Fireflies!
I'm going to show my ignorance here... I didn't know there was a Peace Day. Turns out, there's a World Peace Day, and an International Day of Peace. I'm all about letting my inner hippie out, though, and peace-ing out today.
I've been wanting to try Drew Barrymore's Flower brand for a while, and this lovely came in my Allure Beauty Box! This is Good Bud-dy, a groovy teal blue.
I wanted a colorful, but distressed look for my background, so I went with the grunge technique, popularized by Chalkboard Nails. I used Cult Nails New Day (yellow) and Evolution (peach) and Finger Paints Get Real-ism (purple) for the soft, floaty...peaceful.. background.
Doves are the symbol for peace, right? And I happened to get this image on my new set of stamps from Winstonia. I stamped this with Milani White On The Spot and Winstonia W205.
I also hand-drew a peace sign. OMG, circles are HARD, y'all.
Glitter, on the other hand, is easy. China Glaze Fairy Dust gives my doves an ethereal glow...
Does this say "Peace Day" to you? Or does it just say, "Peace sign, bird, stripey colors, bird, bird, glitter?"
I really like that grunge technique. So easy - just use an almost dry brush to paint bits of color.
Bottle shot: Flower Good Bud-dy, Cult Nails New Day and Evolution, Finger Paints Get Real-ism. Milani White On The Spot, and China Glaze Fairy Dust.
Did you know about Peace Day? I think I'll celebrate with a cocktail and a hammock, which sounds peaceful to me. What about you?

#WeekOfLoveChallenge - Valentines' Day Gouged Hearts
Happy Valentines' Day, Fireflies!
Whether or not you celebrate, I hope you take a moment today to appreciate yourself and know that I appreciate all of you who spend a moment here with me. Hugs!
Today's nail art was inspired by a cloud mani done by Lucy's Stash. I love the layered look of a cloud mani!
I started with OPI This Gown Needs A Crown, a polish with a unique silver satin finish. It's a similar idea to the OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby, but the texture isn't as fine.
I followed up with Literary Lacquers Strawberry Ice Cream Soma, a soft baby pink with a subtle scattered holo.
Next up, OPI Cute Little Vixen. I loved the berry color.. but I also loved the name for this mani. Who doesn't look forward to being a cute little vixen (or cuddling up with one!) once in a while?
Last, but not least, Rescue Beauty Lounge Piu Mosso. Lovely, dark eggplant purple with a copper shimmer. Again, loved the color, but also the name, which means, "more motion." Wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more?
For the hearts, I took an orange stick with some cotton, dunked it in acetone, and rubbed through almost all the layers of polish. I can't remember who started this, but I believe they called it a 'grunge' technique. Yeah, my hearts do look grungy.
Topcoat actually worked against me a little - it filled in some of the hearts and made them harder to see. This probably would have worked better if my hearts were bigger. Take a note from the Grinch, whose heart grew 3 sizes.
Bottle shot: OPI This Gown Needs A Crown, Literary Lacquers Strawberry Ice Cream Soma, OPI Cute Little Vixen, and Rescue Beauty Lounge Piu Mosso.
Being in love usually means being vulnerable enough for that person to be able to hurt you. I hope that today your hearts are full, and not metaphorically gouged out like these.
