Scrolling Wallpaper
Hello, Fireflies!
Short post today - I was going to take the day off, and then I decided to look through the vault to see if I could find a mani that could satisfy this month's NCC challenge - wallpaper.
I think that this scrolling pattern on blue flakie and gold works!

When in doubt, TRI - polish Squiggles
Hello, Fireflies!
I foundered a bit here and there this month with this challenge. Getting in all three colors caused me a bit of a mental block at times! So, here, at the last, what can I do?
First, start with an absolutely gorgeous bluish-periwinkle holo. This is Cult Nails Intriguing.
Next, pull out some nail art pens. I found these Hot Designs pens at Target. They're kinda cool because they have both a brush, and a squeeze fine tip. Because of this, they're refillable, too! My only complaint is that I had to squeeze a little hard for some of these, which got uncomfortable after a while.
Not sure what to do with your nail art pens? Squiggles and scrolls.
Sure, I might have been trying to make something, but you'll never know that it wasn't just squiggles and scrolls. It's a foolproof plan.
I think this is one of those tools that will give me better results with a little practice! What was the last thing you tried to do that you wondered if you'd ever get it, and then, it just came together?

Gold Softens The Bad Things...
Hello, Fireflies!
Have you ever needed a 'palate cleanser' manicure? When you've been wearing a lot of color lately, and you just want something soft and neutral and pretty?
What's softer than a polish called Softening The Bad Things? This polish made by Lucky 13 Lacquer is a lovely pale blue with gold glitters, and was made in support of dealing with depression.
I paired it with accent nails done in OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby. I thought the satin finish also felt soft and neutral. I added some scrolls with a gold glitter nail striper, too.
Glitter needs a topcoat, right? I think I prefer the OPI with the satin finish as opposed to glossy, but it doesn't make a huge difference.
Bottle shot: Lucky 13 Lacquer Softening The Bad Things, OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby, and a gold glitter striper.
When you need a change of pace, do you opt for a soft, neutral mani, or do you go for a bright color? I found this combo to be just the soothing thing I needed!

Flash Scrolls
Hello, Fireflies!
I couldn't resist some of the multichrome holos from Darling Diva Polish's Queen collex. The three I picked up are *gorgeous*.
First up, Flash.
Named for the theme song for the movie, "Flash Gordon." The movie wasn't so great. I'm not a huge fan of the song, either, even though I love me some Queen.
But this polish? Wow. Really, WOW. Look at this gold and purple.
And then to yellow gold and orange..
Greenish gold? Is this the same polish? yep!
At first, I thought I'd add just a simple black French tip with Finger Paints Black Expressionism.
But, then, I couldn't resist adding a few scrolls a la Robin Moses. I love scrolls, but I haven't yet mastered doing them - especially with polish - so, I keep practicing! I'm pretty happy with these, I will admit.
That color change slays me. So many colors at once, all changing every time the lights hit it a different way.
I didn't want to take this off! Such a gorgeous polish. I'll have two more from this collection to show you, but there are 6 all together. Are you as much in love with Darling Diva Polish Flash as I am?
