Sunday Stamping - Purple(ish) and Orange (ok, gold)
Hello, Fireflies!
It's time again for Sunday Stamping! Today's challenge is purple and orange. I was out of town part of the week, and had to reach into the vault.. and had nothing exactly purple and orange. But I think I got pretty close with this pretty purple duochrome and gold stamping.

Meteoroid Garden
Hello, Fireflies!
I recently discovered a new-to-me Indie called Celestial Cosmetics, out of Australia. Can I just say, LOVE!
This is Celestial Cosmetics Meteoroid, a multichrome holo that morphs between gold and green and bronze. It's really hard to pin it to one color! The formula was *amazeballs* too. Just flowed onto the nail.
I bought these water decals from Born Pretty Store during one of their sales. (If you'd like to go shopping, feel free to use my coupon (GVX31) for 10% off!) I love water decals - they are so easy to use.
This set has flowers AND butterflies, so it's perfect for today's challenge!
I thought it might be risky putting these reddish pink flowers over Meteoroid, but I love how they look together. Hubby wasn't so sure it was going to work, but he ended up loving it.
I love proving him wrong. One of the basic building blocks to our successful marriage, really.
This kinda makes me think of Japanese art.
Such a short Challenge Your Nail Art challenge this month! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Girly Purple Sparkly and Studs #NailArtForNubs
Did you see I had another post today? If you'd like to see my review of April's Birchbox, click HERE.
Hello (again!) Fireflies!
Wow, huh? Feast your eyes on the holo multichrome blurple goodness that is Girly Bits Go And Shake A Tower. I don't know what the reference is, but it always makes me think of Tina Turner's Shake a Tail Feather.
So, I'll go shake a tail feather! Because this polish is gorgeous, and I'm taking it dancing.
Normally, if I'm doing a tape mani, I'll paint the base color, tape off the top, and then paint the tips. But, after wearing the holo alone, I wanted to add a creme to the top. Because I can't do anything the easy way, it seems. I did pick an easy blurple creme, though. The gorgeous China Glaze Queen B.
In addition to using clear tape, I've discovered Washi (scrapbooking) tape and a rubbery tape from Scotch that both work really well - even better than clear tape - for doing tape manis. The Washi tape was in the $1 section at Target (on clearance for a quarter!) and the rubbery tape was also on clearance there for about $1. I got it in purple (hubby's fave color) so I could give it to him in case it didn't work for me. Multitasker!
Aren't these metallic blue diamond studs the coolest? I've lost track of where I bought them, but I think they're from +Winstonia Store.
Bottle shot: Girly Bits Go And Shake A Tower, and China Glaze Queen B.
I'm digging how the polish cuts the nail diagonally, and the stud cuts it vertically, but neither with a straight line. Kinda gives the illusion of length, doesn't it?
And the shiny is a distraction! Oooh, shiny....

Holo Happy!
Hello, Fireflies!
Continuing with this month's theme of Music/TV/Movies, I was inspired by Pharrell's 'Happy'
Holos make me happy! Multichromes make me happy! So, holo-multichromes make me *extra* happy! This is Girly Bits Belly Jeans, a blue-purple holo multichrome.
Clear, bright royal blue to purple shift, with rainbows and oil slicks. Happy.
Excellent formula, which also makes me happy!
Stamping sometimes makes me happy. These smiley faces sure did, though - I used this plate, Mash 31, with Revlon Spirit.
In addition to the stamping, I sliced some smiley face fimo, and picked out these gold smiley face studs. Looking at my nails made me HAPPY! Picking off all this stuff, and even picking off my polish makes me happy, too. I never can keep these 3-D manis on for very long.
Bottle shot: Girly Bits Belly Jeans, and Revlon Spirit.
I have listened to this trombone loop version of Happy, done by Christopher Bill, countless times over the past week. I love it so hard.
I also really love this version done by a professional A Capella group, Straight No Chaser.
If that's not enough Happy, you can check out Pharrell's 24 hours of Happy, a 24-hour video loop of different people dancing to Pharrell's version of, "Happy".
Are you happy now?

Spring Renewal - Water (decal) Lilies
Hello, Fireflies!
April showers bring ...Spring Flowers! I'm not waiting until May to show you these awesome nails! I started with one of my new favorite multichromes, Dance Legend Roz.
Have you ever seen such vibrant shifts? And that violet. Green, gold, copper, purple. Amazing.
I'm using these Lily water decals from Born Pretty Store in two different manis this week, I like them that much. I like them so much that, even though I got these from Born Pretty Store for review purposes, I bought another set of them during their water decal sale! Some were only 88 or 99 cents.
I love how the polish plays off the pink in the lily decals. If these were stickers, you might see lifting of all those pointy flower petals, but that doesn't happen with water decals.
I wish I could paint like this, but I don't need to with these decals. This is nail art anyone can do if they have some water and a pair of tweezers.
If you'd like to go shopping at the Born Pretty Store, feel free to use my coupon (GVX31) for 10% off! Born Pretty Store can also be found on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and their blog.

Water, Water, Everywhere - Use Them For Decals!
Hello, Fireflies!
I have a couple of looks for you today that I did with water decals courtesy of Born Pretty Store.
First, I have to show you this multichrome from Dance Legend called The Knight.
I have never seen a polish change from purple to gold before! Wowza.
I ordered it directly from Dance Legend, but Llarowe also carries it. A polish this unique and classy deserves some nail art that's just as classy, right?
I received some water decals for review from Born Pretty Store, and they have been a nail art game-changer! Water decals are super easy to use. You may be able to tell that the decals are only as big as they need to be to accomodate the picture. So, when you cut it out, you don't have to cut it out exactly around the picture. The decal is smaller than the square I've cut out.
I did another example with China Glaze Santa Red My List, a red metallic foil.
See? You don't have to be precise or use the decals in any particular order. You can cut them all out at once, or just pick out the ones you want to use.
I chose a couple different kinds of bows, in different sizes. They are so easy to put on - you can clean up any excess with a brush and some acetone, and then they come off with your polish when you remove the polish.
If you're nailart-challenged, you may love all the things you can do with water decals. Have you tried them?
If you'd like to go shopping at the Born Pretty Store, feel free to use my coupon (GVX31) for 10% off! Born Pretty Store can also be found on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and their blog.

Killer Clouds #FallingFornailArt
This is the last of the Darling Diva Polish Queen collex that I picked up - Killer Queen.
And, oh, Freddy was! And, I think this polish is, too. The shifts are less dramatic than some of the others in this collex, but the pigmentation is divine. I love a red-violet multichrome, though. Gorgeous. I saw this 'cut out' nail art technique on Lucy's Stash, and wanted to try it here. Almost looks like strange clouds, doesn't it? This is one of those cases where I think the look would have been easier to recreate and smoother, had I used acrylic paint instead of nail polish. Bottle shot: Darling Diva Polish Killer Queen and a white nail art striper. There will never be another Queen like Freddy! I love that this collex has reminded me of some great music while giving me some of my favorite colors and finishes.

These Swirls Will Rock You
Hello, Fireflies!
I have another of Darling Diva Polish's Queen collection for you today: We Will Rock You.
Is there anyone who hasn't heard at least some rendition of this song? As a member of the marching band in high school and college, I know I've played snippets innumerable times.
But you haven't seen too many polishes like this one!
Another stunning multichrome holo polish. Blue! Purple! Teal! Green!
Wow.
I saw this design on Pinterest that apparently was done by a nail artist for a client, but there was no identifying information. I liked it, though, and wanted to do my own version. I used a neon blue Color Club (when are they going to start putting labels on their bottles? Please?) to make an asymmetrical hill on my tips.
I used a black nail art striper to make some swirls, and then highlighted with a silver glitter nail art striper.
At some angles, We Will Rock You is more blue, but at others, a bright purple!
I love the color shift in this polish, especially how it plays off the neon blue.
I loved it so much, I did the other hand and went out on the town. It was harder to do the swirls with my left hand, but in Real Life, no one really notices that they're not exactly the same. As an added bonus, the swirling lines take attention away from the length of my nubs, and if there are any differences in length.
Bottle shot: Darling Diva Polish We Will Rock You, Color Club Neon Blue, Milani nail art striper in silver glitter, and black nail art striper.
Unfortunately, We Will Rock You was an LE, and it seems the store of pigment needed to make it has run out. At this time, I don't know if any more of this polish will be made. Some of the Queen collex are not LE, however, so check them out!
