Halloween Web Decals

Hello, Fireflies!

We're getting closer to that big, spooky day!  I saw this cool, abstract web design from ArcadiaNails that I wanted to do, but instead of free-handing the web like she did, I decided to make a stamp decal!

Lemony Fresh! #Lemonoil

Press Sample.  All opinions are my own.
Hello, Fireflies!

Whether or not you believe in the powers of aromatherapy, there are some essential oils that have real power to them, and lemon is one of them! There are so many uses for this oil, aside from just smelling awesome.

From Orange Holo To Orange Flakie

Hello, Fireflies!

You may remember last week's GOT challenge, where I resurrected an old holo from the Old Forgotten Holos Home - Enchanted Polish Dragon Spit.

Well, after I was done admiring it, I covered it up with another forgotten polish, but a flakie, this time - Nfu-Oh 44, a gorgeous orange base with golden orange flakies.

Look at that glow. And, isn't the bottle super cute?

I thought these Maybelline Colorshow Nail Tattoos I picked up from the Dollar Tree looked cute with this mani.  Hello, Lucky Cat!

Now that Fall is approaching, are you going looking for some fave fall color nail polishes?

Embracing My Geekness with Katniss

Hello, Fireflies!

Today is a day to embrace your geekness! and today, especially, I'm embracing another glowing, fiery thing - Catching Fire, from the Hunger Games trilogy.  Yes, I read the books, too, so this qualifies, I think.

I even used polishes and nail art decals from the Cover Girl Catching Fire collection.  First, Cover Girl Black Heat, a black polish with flecks of gold and green, and some orange that catch the light.

I dabbed on a gradient with Cover Girl Seared Bronze, a pink/bronze polish with some of the same green/gold duochrome glitters as Black Heat.  Smoky, Smoldering, Glowy.

These came in a set with these cool decals.  Decals - Big.  My nails - small.  Tiny scissors - friend.

Yeah, I need flames like this painted on everything I own. I used to watch a lot of cooking shows, and some of my faves had flames painted on their Kitchen Aid stand mixers.  I want these.

Meteoroid Garden

Hello, Fireflies!

I recently discovered a new-to-me Indie called Celestial Cosmetics, out of Australia.  Can I just say, LOVE!

Celestial Cosmetics Meteoroid, a multichrome holo that morphs between gold and green and bronze

This is Celestial Cosmetics Meteoroid, a multichrome holo that morphs between gold and green and bronze.  It's really hard to pin it to one color! The formula was *amazeballs* too.  Just flowed onto the nail.

I bought these water decals from Born Pretty Store during one of their sales. (If you'd like to go shopping, feel free to use my coupon (GVX31) for 10% off!)  I love water decals - they are so easy to use.

This set has flowers AND butterflies, so it's perfect for today's challenge!

I thought it might be risky putting these reddish pink flowers over Meteoroid, but I love how they look together.  Hubby wasn't so sure it was going to work, but he ended up loving it.

I love proving him wrong.  One of the basic building blocks to our successful marriage, really.

This kinda makes me think of Japanese art.

Such a short Challenge Your Nail Art challenge this month! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Tri-Polish Tuesday - Lily Gradient

Hello, Fireflies!

I'm so happy with the way this nail art cam out! Especially after it started with a streaky yellow base coat, Ulta Cream Of The Crop.

Ulta Cream Of The Crop

I tried doing a sponge gradient with Barry M Blue Moon, a soft pale blue, with a slight shimmer, but they're both so sheer that they just absorbed into the sponge.  I achieved pretty much the look I wanted by just painting the two colors on my nail!  Sometimes, the simplest solution is the best one.

I used these Lily water decals from Born Pretty Store in a mani earlier this week, but I actually created this one first.  I loved the decals so much, I just had to use them again! And then, I ordered another set that I paid for (these were sent for review.)

These are the epitome of Spring/Easter nails.  Pastels, light, airy colors, with bright lilies.

I fell in love, and I fell hard.  And, I'm so proud of myself for using all three colors of the Tri-polish challenge! (golf clap)

These decals are so easy to use - just cut off the decal you want to use (you don't even have trim it that close!) soak it in a bit of water for 10-20 seconds, slide the decal off the paper backing with your fingers or a pair of tweezers, and put it on your wet nail.  Slide it around until it's where you want it to be, and then blot gently with a lint-free cloth - or just let it dry on its own.  They don't lift like stickers, and they melt away with the nail polish remover, so there's no extra clean up.

Do you love these as much as I do?  I can't even take most of the credit - the decals did most of the work!
