Age is just a number, right? Is it really, though? I may act like a 12-year old, and my knees feel like they're 800 years old - and my skin? Well, it looks good, but it's still been around for 44 years now. I'd like it to feel good and look good for a long time to come!
ARK Skincare is a European skincare company that has looked at what skin needs at different stages. They have three lines - one for teens and those in their 20's, designed to protect the youthful skin they already have; one for those in their 50+, to defy aging, and bring back the radiance and strength to aging skin, and the one that I chose, for those in their 30's and 40's, to defend against the aging process, deeply moisturize and build collagen.
Even though I have oily skin, it still needs moisture - and the kind of moisture I give it really makes a difference. If the product is too rich and heavy, I get breakouts. If it's light and absorbs easily, I get radiant skin. You can see that this formula is just right - smooth, light, and even has a delightful lime-citrus scent. I'm not sold on this kind of packaging, though. It's one step up from a jar, but not as sanitary as my favorite pump dispenser.
I like that, among the more difficult-to-pronounce ingredients, I can still find ones I know and love, like Shea Butter and Olive Oil. It also has natural ingredients like Kiwi and Passionfruit oils, and Blue Lotus, known for its anti-aging properties. Vitamin A and Matrixyl are powerful wrinkle reducers, and Co-enzyme Q10 soothes the skin and is an antioxidant. My skin looks and feels great - no breakouts, no dry or oily patches, just smooth skin.
I admit that I'm more used to picking out clay masks than hydration ones, but this one really surprised me. How you use it depends on the level of intensity you need, and can be as little as 5 minutes, or as long as overnight.
A clear mask, it never really dried down on me, but it's not sticky or uncomfortable to wear, either. Full of vitamins and moisture-loving oils and hyaluronic acid, it is a spa treatment in a bottle.
I was pretty surprised at how much of a difference one treatment made! My skin looked radiant. Even with my oily skin, it still benefited from a dose of moisture.
A simple white double-framed nailart, inspired by my ARK moisturizer. I used Butter London Sozzled for the green frame, and OPI Push and Shove for the silver one. |
