Combo of Challenges - Summer (Neon) Floral
I accept the Challenge(s)!
We're still in NEON month for the Nail Challenge Collaborative, and this week's ECOPOLO challenge is for Summer Floral. So I did... wait for it... a summer neon floral! whew!
I started out with Cult Nails Tempest, and then did a wash of Pink Cookie Neon Blue. I would move the brush around, hoping to give it a textured look, like a blue sky. This is where y'all nod your heads and say, 'yes, of course, I totally see that!'
I used a small brush and a dotting tool to add the flowers using more colors from the Pink Cookie neon line - purple, yellow, pink, and orange.
In retrospect, I should have put white under the flowers again, because the neons don't pop on the blue background. I did put some white under the yellow dots, which makes them look gold for some reason.
I wish it were a little easier to do nail art with neons. They're so finicky about how and when to show their brightness. Are you loving the neons this summer so far?

ReplyDeleteAw, thanks!
DeleteCute :D I find it hard to find a neon blue. o.O"
ReplyDeleteI'm going by what the bottle says. I know some of these aren't TRUE neons. But they're bright, and that counts... lol... I'm a cheater.
DeleteThis is so pretty!!! Even though the other colours don't pop as much they still look really nice on top of the blue. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I learn a lot from my mistakes - kinda wish I'd paid more attention to my few art classes in school! :)
