No matter how many neutral eyeshadow palettes I own, I can't seem to get enough. And when it is neutral with a pop of color, well, that makes me weak in the knees! The new Butter London Shadow Clutch is so versatile, I can slide in my fave neutral shades, and then use their duos to add in some fun colors! Then, I can change out the colors and create a whole new look.
I've been a fan of Butter London polishes for years, and they just continue to impress me with their cosmetics. Even the packaging is thoughtful and elegant, from the box and bow to the subtle print on the Shadow Clutch itself.
The Natural Charm palette comes with a dual-sided brush and six buttery-soft, primer-infused, oil-absorbing shadows. I used them both with and without primer and they performed beautifully either way - blending smoothly, with true colors and no creasing!
Butter London also sent two Wardrobe Duos, and I picked up the Ulta Exclusive Duo (Ruby & Topaz) as a GWP. I love the duochrome Plume, with its brown base and blue shimmer. The metallic goodness of Topaz is amazing!
The first look I created was a very soft, subtle neutral eye. I was going for just a little more than a no-makeup makeup look.
I couldn't resist a pop of color on the lips, though. That's Butter London's Lippie Tinted Balm in Black Cherry. It's my first time trying their balms. I love that it has decent pigmentation, and it wears just like a balm - not very long-lasting, but pretty moisturizing.
I wanted to also create a more bold eye. I used Ruby on the lid and crease and layered Plume over it. I used Linen as a highlight, Citrine as a transition, and Topaz in the inner corner.
I didn't do a good job capturing the duochrome shift of Plume, but you can maybe kinda see the blue flash in this picture. I can't always pull off a reddish eye without looking like I've been crying, but layering the brown/blue Plume over Ruby brightened it up.
There's also a Pretty Proper Shadow Clutch with rosy neutrals, and Wardrobe Duos in purple and matte black/golden sheen. I want them all!
