Hello, Fireflies!
Time for another round of Undies and Glitter! Today's polishes are some kind of blue.. mostly.
First up, Different Dimension Dewing It Right and Rainbow Polish Summer Storm. I love blue and grey together. Notice the water theme here?
Gorgeous though it is, OPI Amazon..Amazoff is a bit of a stainer on me. I did a couple of accent nails with Shimmer Polish Cristina, which could build to opacity, as many of Shimmer's microglitter polishes do, if you like.
A while back, I did a post about trying to recreate a pinned look that claimed to have been made with OPI Cuckoo For This Color and Essie Shine of The Times. When I did it, I couldn't make it look like the picture. Imagine my delight when this combination actually looked like it! I give you OPI Amazon..Amazoff and Color Club Galactic Garden!
I loved the sparkle that Finger Paints You Yacht To Know Better had in the bottle, but it's so subtle on the nail. So I added Finger Paints Sparkle In The Sky. I didn't realize that it's a texture and completely opaque on its own! Instead of boosting Yacht, it obliterated it. Still pretty, though.
I love dusty colors like Rescue Beauty Lounge 360. I'm not sure I did it any favors by putting a matte flakie over it like Orly Green Flakie Topcoat.
My heart still sings over the combination of Amazon..Amazoff and Galactic Garden. Any fave glitter combos for you?

Glitterween, Part I
Hello, Fireflies!
It's almost Halloween! For today and tomorrow, I've picked some glitter polishes I had that just felt right for this time of year.
I love the picture on The Nail Junkie Candy Corn. Angry Candy Corn will make you sick! More than a few pieces of the real stuff, and I do feel a little nauseated, so it's pretty appropriate.
I still love a milky glitter, and I love all these colors. The formula wasn't as nice as I would have liked - it was kinda hard to get a nice distribution of the glitters, especially on my smaller nails. It wasn't so terrible, though. I'll still wear it again because I love the colors.
I fell in love with this polish all over again when I put it on. This is Dollish Polish I'm the Boogieman.
In Real Life, it's easier to see the awesome golden shimmer that really makes this polish crazy beautiful.
I got some skull & crossbones glitter from my friend Emma, and added a few. Cool!
I doubt that Rainbow Polish Jungle Paradise was intended to be a Halloween polish, but.. well... green with orange glitters? 'Tis the season!
This one was a little sheer. I bet some green undies would look great. Going lighter or darker would totally change the look, too.
The last one for today is Pretty & Polished Blood Clot, a red jelly with red glitters.
I'm kinda torn about this one. I love the concept, and it looks great. But the red base is just a little too cherry pink for me. Oddly enough, it photographs darker - I wish it were the color in the top photo! The pix below is closer to true color.
Stay tuned for more Glitter-ween Gorgeousness tomorrow!

Challenges - Around the World to an Exotic Beach
Hello, Fireflies!
I'm totally cheating again and combining two challenges - Around the World, and Beach theme.
So, I'm going to an exotic beach. I wish.
Here's Bondi (pronounced Bond-aye, did you know? That's exotic, right?) Blue Skies.
This is my first Bondi, and I went ahead and joined their subscription service. So far, the formulas are pretty good. The colors are nice, but basic. This blue is really pretty, though.
Let's take a trip to Tahiti, and dip our toes (or at least our fingertips) in the Tahitian Waters. Rainbow Polish Tahitian Waters, that is.
I got so excited, I forgot topcoat, and you can see that I wasn't dabbing on the glitter all too carefully. Topcoat would smooth everything out and cover any mistakes you might make. Not that you would make any. Your nails would be perfect, I'm sure. Yes, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
I love how these two went together. That pink glitter is so cute, but it's not too girly. I want to escape to Tahiti, but I guess this will have to do!

Redsplosion!
After all the fireworks last week, you're probably ready for some quiet, safe manis, right? Heck, no! I got some fiery red-hot manis for you today!
Orly Cherry Bomb. Sometimes, the best polishes come to us in the most unexpected ways. When Orly changed their packaging, they tried everything to get rid of the old bottles. Sally was giving them away with purchases.. but you had to ask. And this was my freebie. Happy, happy freebie.
I love the golden shimmer!
Nothing goes better with red than black and white. Check out this microglitter from Mentality, Antisocial.
If I remember correctly, this was one coat on the ring finger, and two on the others. I'd bet with three, it would be pretty much opaque.
For my second redsplosion mani, I started off with Julep Nan. This soft brick red creme was Julep's homage to the Nantucket Red shade, and I knew I wanted it the moment I saw it.
Great shine, even without topcoat. I've never seen a shade of red quite like this before in a polish.
Rainbow Polish Lava Flows is a melange of red and pink holo glitters in a clear base. I think it just lit up Nan perfectly.
Is this a day-to-night look or what? Quiet, faded red to Kapow-fire red. I am red, hear me roar.
What's your favorite way to wear red? Are you a classic red creme, a new faded red, bright glitter, or shimmer red lover?
If you'd like more information about Mentality, you can find them on Facebook and their BigCartel store. Rainbow Polish also has a Facebook page, and a shop on Etsy.

Predominantly Peach 'Parison
I have four peach-leaning Indie polishes for you today.
Gloss 'n Sparkle Dazzling Dusk. Yes, it looks pink. But when I put it with pink polishes, it looked peach. So, apparently, it's somewhere in between the two.
Regardless, it's a beaut. Great application, nice distribution of glitters, and it's preeeeety. Whatever color it is.
Literary Lacquer Carrots, Carrots. This is from the Green Gables collection, and it's what Gilbert said to Anne when he pulled on her ginger braids... and she broke a slate over his head. And, so their courtship began.
This is peach, leaning orange, especially with the glitters. But that base is especially gorgeous. I love the crelly peachy-orange juiciness of it. One of my faves!
Dandy Nails Sticky Sweet. I love Dandy Nails polishes. This one has a base that is unique - slightly metallic, kinda...wrinkly? I don't know how to describe it, really. This is a polish that would need topcoat for me, but I wanted you to see the texture of it.
I love the colors - orange, yellow and periwinkle glitters in a peach base.
Rainbow Polish Exotic Plumeria. How can all these polishes be peachy glitters and be so very different? I was blown away by this polish. I love the metallic-looking glitters, the jelly squishy base, the tiny sparkly glitter.
This glitter adds red to the mix and it's great. Fresh, juicy plums and peaches.
Here's a bottle shot of the four with the corresponding swatches: Gloss 'n Sparkle Dazzling Dusk, Literary Lacquer Carrots, Carrots, Dandy Nails Sticky Sweet, and Rainbow Polish Exotic Plumeria.
And, all together. One thing I love about Indies is how many variations there are.
Which is your fave? more pink, more orange? more texture or a jelly? tiny glitters or bigger ones?
If you'd like more information about these Indies, you can find Gloss 'n Sparkle on Facebook. She has an Aussie-only Etsy shop, but her page lists some International retailers. Literary Lacquer also has a Facebook page, and an Etsy shop. Dandy Nails is on Facebook and Etsy as well. Rainbow Polish has a Facebook page here, and both an Etsy and Big Cartel shop.
