Pura d'Or is Pure Gold for Hair #purador

I have a lot of hair, but I leave a lot of it behind in the shower, and my hair feels thinner now at the crown.  So, I was curious as to the possible benefits I could derive from a Hair Loss Prevention Therapy system from Pura d'Or.  I won't know about long term effects for a while, but I got some immediate ones I'd like to share with you.

Pura d'Or products are made with a holistic world view in mind.  They strive to use to most organic, sustainably grown ingredients, and use as much recyclable packaging as possible.  All of their products are free from harsh chemicals, and do not contain sulfates, parabens, glutens, artificial fragrances or chemical dyes, and none are tested on animals.

Both the shampoo and conditioner contain natural sources of biotin, to strengthen hair, niacin, to increase blood flow to the hair follicles, coconut and other oils to moisturize the scalp and hair, and their proprietary blend of DHT blockers is supposed to guard against future hair loss.

I started with the Pura d'Or Premium Organic Shampoo.  Because it has no sulfates, it doesn't foam up like shampoos that many of us are used to.  It has a slightly medicinal smell mixed with the lavender that I'm not in love with, but didn't mind, either.  The instructions say to leave the shampoo on for a couple of minutes, so I did.  There wasn't any burning or tingling, or anything negative at all from doing this.  When I rinsed, it came out cleanly and left my hair really clean, but not feeling stripped.

I followed up with the Pura d'Or Premium Organic Conditioner.   I thought it had decent slip, and I was able to get it worked into my hair with a wide-toothed comb better than some masks I've tried.  The scent was similar to the shampoo, which I expected. It's mild enough that even though I don't love it, it didn't bother me.  There aren't any chemical fragrances, so it's a very natural lavender/herbal type scent.  After leaving it on for the prescribed two minutes, it rinsed out cleanly.

No matter what shampoo and conditioner I use, I can't go without a little product in my hair, so I was glad to have the Pura d'Or Argan oil.  I have to be careful with using argan oil because my hair sucks it up like it's a straw, and it's easy to put too much on and have greasy hair.  This argan oil has a very subtle nutty scent.

I like that argan oil is such a multi-tasker.  If you have dry patches anywhere on your skin, you can soften them with argan oil.  I particularly like it for my hair, and adding it to my home made cuticle oil blend. It's a very rich oil, very nourishing for the skin and hair.  Curly hair like mine is so porous that it frizzes easily and really needs heavy moisturizers to keep the curls together.  In addition to the oil, I also use a curl cream.

Immediately, I could feel that my hair was thicker and stronger.  I went to an event that evening with my husband and a few friends, and even they noticed that my hair had a lot of volume.  One of my girl friends sat behind me at the event and told me she just wanted to pet my hair the whole time!

I spent a lot of my youth hating and fighting my curly hair, so it's something relatively new for me to love my hair, wear it down, and receive compliments on it.  Now, my hair is loved, pampered, and moisturized, and I want it to stick around for a long, long time!

My nailart is an homage to the bottle of argan oil and the Pura d'or logo.  I used Clinique Cinnamon Swirl for the base, and did a half-moon with Milani Fierce Foil Milan, with a black stripe and a green stud accent.  The logo was painted with the bright green of Butter London Sozzled.
