Forever Fractionated Coconut Oil #coconutoilfractionated

Hello, Fireflies!

If you like all the skin-loving, hair-loving, wonderful qualities of coconut oil, but aren't too fond of the scent, or the way it hardens up when it gets cold, then you're going to love Pure Body Naturals Fractionated Coconut Oil - it's coconut oil, but always in a liquid form.

Coconut oil is actually a misnomer.  It's actually a butter, like shea or cocoa butter.  Usually, it's solid at room temperature and liquid when it melts.  Butters contain water and can actually add moisture to the skin, rather than simply seal moisture in like regular oils.  Fractionated coconut oil no longer turns into a solid form, but rather stays liquid all the time, because SCIENCE.

I started hearing about coconut oil about a year ago, and I bought some cooking coconut oil.  I transferred some into a jar, but it got messy because sometimes it would be solid, and sometimes, it would be liquid.  A jar would work when it was solid, but made a mess when it would melt.  So, I quit using it for cosmetic purposes...until now!

I use this the most on my hands and nails.  Lately, I have been moisturizing my hands and cuticles like it's my job.  I'll put some of this on while watching TV, or before bed.  It's a very lightweight oil, but it does take some time to absorb, so stay away from the computer keyboard for a few minutes after using it!  I don't mind a coconut smell, but I actually like that this is completely unscented, so it doesn't interfere with my perfume, or compete with my hair products.

If you wanted to use this as a base, it's great as a carrier oil for other oils that need to be diluted, such as peppermint, or tea tree oils.  It's a wonderful massage oil, either on its own, or mixed with other essential oils.  You can use it in making soaps, not that I've tried.  That looks hard.  Way hard.
I've only found one downside to this product, and it's that I kinda want it in a smaller bottle and with a pump.  The oil makes the bottle slippery, and because it's 16 oz, the weight plus slippery can mean trouble for clumsy folk like me.  So, if you're going to use it as-is, I'd recommend finding a cute pump bottle.  I may do that anyway so I can mix smaller amounts with different essential oils.
When planning my nail art for this review, I thought this stamp, from Cici&Sisi 12, reminded me of the opened coconuts on the label.  I started with a dark purple base of Finger Paints Berry Good Bid and added Sinful Colors Zest of Times, a sparkly pink topcoat.  I stamped with Mundo de Unas Pastel Pink

Have you added coconut oil to your hair/skincare routine?  What do you think about it in fractionated form, where it's always liquid and never goes bad?
