Influenster Spring VoxBox!

Hello, Fireflies!

I was lucky enough to be selected to receive a Spring VoxBox from Influenster.  I had such a ball playing with most of these things, and I can't wait to tell you about them!

TRI-Turquoise Talons

Hello, Fireflies!

You may remember these KISS Everlasting French press-on nails from last week:

I wore them for about 3 days, but in those days, I polished them, removed the polish (with non-acetone remover) and re-polished them many times.  I think Thursday is the last post with these.

After applying a base coat of Rica's Glossy Glam, I used Mineral Fusion Sapphire Dream and a piece of tape to paint a small section at the top of my nails, and a large section below.  I would have preferred to make the middle section a little bigger, but the curve of the French tip and my mistakes in application pretty much dictated the size of the nude section.

I used Mineral Fusion Sapphire Dream and a piece of tape to paint a small section at the top of my nails, and a large section below.

Then, I took these square orange-y-coral-y studs in large and small sizes and made them into diamonds (I am clever like that.)

I topcoated them in... except the pinky.  How did I not see that those weren't topcoated?

As an afterthought, I decided to paint the tips with Mineral Fusion Galaxy, a dark bluish-black base with turquoise and green glitter.

I would have been hard pressed to fit all this on my nubs, but it was fun to do on talons!

I really liked these Mineral Fusion polishes, too.  I bought them on BOGO special ($8 for both) at Ulta.com.  Bottle shot:  Mineral Fusion Sapphire Dream, and Galaxy.

I wouldn't have necessarily thought to put nude, turquoise, and coral together, but I love the combination, and these Mineral Fusion polishes!  Have you tried this brand?

Black and White over Kiss everlasting French Manicure French Tips!

Hello, Fireflies!

So, maybe you saw these Everlasting French tip press-on nails from KISS yesterday.  They came in an Influenster voxbox, and after about a day, I couldn't take the plain anymore, so I experimented with some nail art.

I actually started with a layer of Rica's Glossy Glam, and then painted a smaller French tip in Cult Nails Nevermore. I knew I'd need a thick, one-coat black to cover these white tips.

When in doubt, DOTS! I love these cute dots with Revlon Spirit.  So cute!

I love these so hard.  Don't they look natural with the press-ons, too?  Who says you have to wear what comes in the box?

Have you worn fake nails and then did embellishments over them?  I have a few more looks I did with these nails before I removed them, so stay tuned!

TRI-ing on Talons

Hello, Fireflies!

Let's just get this part over with, shall we?  Holy Frijole!

You've seen my nubs, so you know these talons aren't real.  They're KISS Everlasting French press-on nails.  I got them from Influenster, and took them for a spin.  After a day, I got bored with the plain French, and started doing different nail art looks, which I'll be showing you in the coming days and weeks.  They do look pretty good, and with a layer of Rica's Glossy Glam, they actually looked more real.  Fooled a friend of mine that does her own acrylics!

For the nude part of the challenge, well, the nail already has a nude part! I accented it with Ooh La Lacquer Matte-terial Girl, a collection of tiny nude/pink glitters in a matte base.

I was inspired by Robin Moses' Heart Flowers design for this look.  It was kinda fun to have a long nail as a base for this nail art.

Black striper branches

After setting the background branches with my black striper, I used Avon Mango Melon (which looks red, but it did seem like coral!) with a little Born Pretty holo #3 to make the heart flowers.

Mentality Pastille didn't work for the leaves, really, but I did love it for the 'pollen' of the flowers.   Who needs leaves? This turquoise holo is so pretty.

Some more Glossy Glam, and we're done!

I'm okay with my nubbins, but it was fun to wear talons for a few days.  There was So.Much.Room on my nails! Do you have a preference for looking at nail art on long or short nails?
