Hello, Fireflies!

Do you remember the first time you tasted something that then became your favorite flavor of all time?  I feel that way about makeup brushes! I was the girl who always used the sponge applicators that came in my cosmetics, because that's what my mom did, and it's all I knew.  The first year I went to The Makeup Show Orlando, I had a friend take me over to Crown Brush and make me buy a brush.. and now I can't get enough - I want to try all the styles, and all the brands.

Now, even though I have brushes from well-known and expensive brands, they are not always my go-to brush! There are some real hidden gems, and I may have found another with Kirei Cosmetics.

I remember the days when the only tool I knew about for putting on my makeup was the little sponge applicator that came with my shadows.  In fact, when the sponge fell apart, I would toss the shadow, because, well, how else were you supposed to put it on?  Foundation was only applied with fingers - starting a long dislike for foundation that has only recently changed.  I didn't know anything about brushes until a few years ago. Now, I can't get enough of them.  I've tried brushes from under a dollar, to some pretty expensive ones, and price isn't always an indicator of quality.  I recently tried this set from Beauty Widgets that is very reasonable, and that I really love!

Not so long ago, really, I only knew about using sponge applicators to apply eyeshadow.  I actually remember have one fall apart on me, and I had no idea how I was ever going to use that shadow again!  Silly me.

I love testing lots of different makeup and skincare, but lately, I have found my self reaching for these 5 things when I want to make sure that my face looks the best that it can. 

I don't like a full-coverage makeup, usually, because I think it looks weird to not have any texture in the face, but I think that you could definitely add more coverage, especially with the foundation, if you wanted more coverage.
