Manis & Margaritas With Friends

Hello, Fireflies!

My husband and I both teach at a local university, and sometimes we have some very special students come into our lives and stay as friends.  Chelsea and Carolyn will sometimes come over for manis, and then we all go out for margaritas, one of my faves.

Combo of Challenges - Neon French Mani

I accept the Challenge(s)!

This is the last June combo of  Neon and the EcoPolo summer.  Next month, I'll have another series of challenges, though!  And, I'm sure there will be plenty more Neon this summer!

But for now, here's my Neon French Mani.  I started with white, then Pink Cookie neon pink with accents of Salon Perfect Shocked.

I think the Neon Pink and Shocked look like they were made for each other.

Instead of a traditional French, I decided to pull out the blue and do a funky French with Orly In The Navy.

While the traditional white French tip trend may be ending, I think a colored French, or one with nail art over it is here to stay.  There are just so many things that you can do with a French tip - even go neon!

Hobby Polish Bloggers - Neon

Not only am I late starting this challenge, apparently, I can't even do things in order.  I'll, uh, have to get back to the 3-D challenge.  Whoops.

I've done a lot of neon this summer, and I'm starting to like it.  It's fun and bright.  I'm loving these new neon glitters from Salon Perfect, too.

Orly Truly Tangerine.  This is not a neon, but it's pretty bright - and I needed undies for my glitter.

Orly Truly Tangerine

Salon Perfect Bang and Exploded.  These two look very similar to me.  In fact, I think they are comprised of the same color glitters, but in different concentrations.  I found orange, pink, and yellow glitters in both.

The lighter, more yellow glitter on my thumb and ring finger is Bang, and the darker, more orange glitter on my index, middle, and pinky fingers is Exploded.

I tried to do a glitter gradient by putting the opposite glitter on the tips, but I couldn't really tell any difference... except that now my thumb is all lumpy.  Neither glitter really shows up over the other - another reason why I think they're made up of the same glitters.

I had to try with topcoat.  Wow, they look positively juicy.

Do you like the more orange glitter, or the more yellow one?  I'd love to see it with more pink, too!

Jindie, Oh me, Oh my!

When people ask me about my fave Indies, Jindie Nails is shooting up that list.  Her jelly sandwiches in a bottle are some of my fave polishes to wear - especially when I want a fun pop of color.

Nude Beach.  Cool, nude cream with lots of bright colors.  I imagine those neon dots are censoring all the unmentionables on that nude beach! There are also some small white stars in the mix, but not many.  She is coming out with a version called 86 the stars for all of these polishes which I would have preferred, but the random occasional star is fine.

Princess Consuela Banana-Hammock.  If you're a fan of Friends, you need this polish for the name alone!  It is a bright yellow crelly base with neon pink and orange hexes, and a few super-size hexes to boot.

Mango With The Flow.  My personal fave.  A perfect subtle peach with silver and white hexes and the most subtle of tiny holo flecks - just a flash here and there when you move your hands.  This polish is work-appropriate, and made me feel PURDY.

Have you tried Jindie Nails yet?  Are you more for the subtle with a hint of bling, or bright with a neon pop?
