It's amazing how quickly I went from limiting myself to polish under $5 to ..well, more expensive. At $14.50 a pop, Butter London is one of the most expensive polishes I've purchased. When Ulta has a coupon, it usually excludes Butter London. So when Beauty.com had a friends and family 20% off sale, and it included EVERYTHING on the site, I took advantage to buy a few BL lemmings.
I couldn't wait to try this one on - BL British Racing Green. I love these emerald green colors.
I had a little trouble getting a smooth cuticle line with this polish. The first coat was a little stubborn with me, but the second coat was much easier. This is two coats, no topcoat.
I can't remember which blog asked this, but they wanted to know what kind of polish you would create if you could, and I realized that I would like a dark green holo. So, I tried to create my own version by layering China Glaze Fairy Dust over the BL. Not a linear effect, for sure, but the holo micro glitter in the ChG does give the mani depth and a beautiful sparkle.
I couldn't stop looking at my nails. Driving in car was the worst - my
hands on the steering wheel kept distracting me from the road! This
polish needs a warning label.
LOL, those limits are meant to be broken ;)
ReplyDeleteNice layering with fairy dust!
You are an enabler!! My husband is, too, though - I buy way too much polish.
DeleteOoooo! I need Fairy Dust now! I'm trying to make the jump to greens, but that's what I have the least of in my collection.
ReplyDeleteFairy Dust is beautiful, I agree. TransDesign or Head2Toe have the best prices online for China Glaze that I've seen - but they charge for shipping, so it's best to shop there when you have a larger purchase in mind. I just swatched Girly Bits Hocus Pocus and it turned Essie Bikini So Teeny into a linear holo! Dude.
