Hello, Fireflies!
So, yesterday's post was kinda.. meh. I wanted FLAKIES. So, I decided to try one of the new Butter London Gift Sets - The Double Take Ice Duo. This is Bluecoat, a metallic/electric blue. Great formula, very subtle shimmer.
I think this is a little darker than a cobalt blue, lighter then navy.. maybe a royal blue color?
The topcoat that comes in the set is called Leccy, a Brit slang word for electricity.
Butter London calls it a 'blue opal' topcoat. The flecks aren't traditional flakies. They are more like the new chunky shards of mylar. The remind me of the little pieces of foil you can buy for nail art.
Here's the bottle shot: Butter London Bluecoat and Leccy.
What do you think of these types of flakies? I prefer the traditional iridescent kind, myself, but I'm not opposed to these. Tomorrow, I have the other duo to show you, plus a little bonus! Stay tuned!
I was so excited when I saw your bottle of Butter's "flakies", but, like you, I prefer the other kind. I do love that blue, though!
ReplyDeleteYeah, the flakies were a bummer. The blue is so pretty, it almost makes up for it... I think I'm just having bad flakie karma or something.
DeleteI have this set and I was disappointed by the type of flakie it is. The color is pretty though.
ReplyDeleteDid you get the red one, too? Another bummer. These aren't flakies, they're shard-ies. haha, no, I don't think that name will stick.
