Hello, Fireflies!
You may have heard me sing the praises of Reviva Labs once or twice - I love everything of theirs that I've tried! I'd only heard rumors of Vitamin K cream, but when I got a chance to try it, I jumped! And, boy am I glad I did.
I have a ton of pix to show you, and a GIVEAWAY at the end, sponsored by Reviva Labs and put together with the Beauty Bloggers of Central Florida, so I hope you'll join me after the jump!
Let me start with some of the obvious stuff to love about this product. See that sticker? Isn't it nice to know when your product might no longer work the way it should? Have we all tried a product that maybe didn't work for us because it was past its prime?
Also, look at that wonderful info - No animal testing! No parabens! No animal ingredients! Something to feel good about.
Vitamin K shrinks capillaries and that helps to reduce surface redness and dark circles caused by bruising.
This cream is super-thick, but it's important to remember that this isn't a body creme; it's a spot-treatment. The thick cream stays in place to deliver all that vitamin-y goodness.
My husband has had problems with eczema flare ups for maybe 20 years now. We keep trying different lotions and creams and butters, which all help keep his skin moisturized, but he is still left with patches of discoloration in some places, like this one on his back:
Sometimes, the only thing that will get a flare-up under control is prescription medication. When we started using the Reviva Labs Vitamin K cream, he had this raw patch on his right shoulder:
These are two other flare-ups on his left shoulder, and the middle of his back. Raw, red, and itchy.
For myself, I continued to use my normal skincare routine, but nothing applied to the eye area other than the Reviva Labs Vitamin K cream. The directions say to use twice a day, but I'll be honest - I'm never that faithful with any skincare routine. I did use it at least once a day, most days. Even so, I saw a difference! The following 'after' pictures were all taken on March 23, 2014 - about 2 weeks later.
My left under-eye is much brighter than before!
I was amazed at how much smoother and lighter the discoloration on my side was after just two weeks.
During the two weeks, my husband continued to use body lotion as before, but no prescription medicine. Remember that angry spot on his right shoulder, and the discoloration from the healing eczema patch?
And that really red, itchy flare-up on his left side, and middle of his back?
We were amazed - a little flabbergasted. I did some research on the interwebs, and couldn't find a relationship between Vitamin K and eczema. It's entirely possible that this is simply correlation/coincidence and not a causal relationship between the cream and his rash.
But one thing is for certain - his skin hasn't looked this good in years, and those places are itch-free, and that's all that matters. As I write this review, those spots are still healed, and looking even better (though he only lets me put the lotion on every couple of days because he's so macho) and we're treating a new flare-up on his stomach.
