Holiday Metallic Make up Look

Forlan BB Cream and OFRA Blush Stripes are Press Samples.  All opinions are my own.
Hello, Fireflies!

As much as I am loving dark, smoky looks for evening these days, I've also discovered that I love a bright, metallic lid, too.  The lightness brings attention to my mobile lid, making it look larger, and it's also easier to pair with a bold lip!

A good friend of mine hosts a Martini party for the holidays every year, and it's the highlight of my schedule.  I wanted a look that was sophisticated, but not fussy.  I also wanted it to wear well throughout the night - especially after a few drinks and nibbles!

I have become addicted to ViseArt eyeshadow palettes.  Their neutral matte palette is a gateway drug - simply the smoothest, most pigmented, easy-to-blend shadows in the best neutral colors you'll find.  Their palettes aren't flashy - just 12 colors close together in a black palette with a clear top.  They are designed for the working makeup artist, not the collector - but if you have a love of eyeshadow, you should try one of their palettes.  They're usually around $80, but I've found all of mine on sale for around $50.

I used the ViseArt Sultry Muse as a base for this look, and then packed on some City Color Metallic Shadow Pot in Shooting Star with a flat concealer-type brush.  It's a soft, mousse-like product that goes on smooth and shiny.  The liner is Colour Pop Bustier, a darkened olive which looks pretty black to me. I've heard differing reviews on the Colour Pop gel liners.  So far, I really like them.  They are really thick.  Some tug a little bit, but this one doesn't.  It also does NOT budge on me.  I always get runny liner in my outer corner, and this one does not move.

My dress is dark, with highlights of red, blue, and champagne, so I think the red lip and the gold eye are perfect accompaniments to the outfit.

What I used:  Laura Geller Glamlash, and Liquid Baked Radiance Foundation in Light, Forlan BB Cream and Smashbox Water Primers, ViseArt Sultry Muse palette, City Color Cosmetics Metallic Eyeshadow Pot in Shooting Star, Colour Pop Gel liner in Bustier, and Ultra Matte Lippie in Avenue, OFRA Illuminating Blush Stripes, Ulta Lip and Cheek Color Stick in Peachy, and Urban Decay Primer Potion and Lip Liner in Ozone.  I forgot to take a picture of it, but it's likely the It Cosmetics Brow Power in Universal Taupe on my eye brows, and their Pressed ByeBye Pores powder on my face.

Have you changed up your look for any holiday gatherings this year?  What's your favorite go-to product or look for this holiday season?
