Hello, Fireflies!
Welcome to the Week of Loooove Challenge! It's time to get all pink and sappy with hearts and flowers and crap because this week is all about the mush.
Ok, it's really about the nail art. Actually, it's all about the after Valentines' Day sales when candy is cheap and plentiful! But, we must entertain ourselves until then.
In the meantime, check out this glitter - one of the first I remember coming on the scene after Indies exploded with colored milky bases swimming with glitter - Nails Inc Topping Lane. Doesn't it just look like candy?
That candy quality is why I chose it, because today's challenge is about being inspired by those ubiquitous candy hearts that taste like sugar on steroids.
In order to have the hearts pop out of the background, I first did an outline of the hearts with a white striper.
I chose pastel scattered holos for the hearts themselves: Aly's Dream Polish in Bayouberry and Rumpleberry, and Treasures by Tan in Midorita and Amazon Dreams.
In a purple nail art pen, I wrote what I imagined these hearts might say now, in as few letters as possible because I have nubbins!
Topcoat, and done! Very sugary-sweet! Don't eat the polish..
Bottle shot: Nails Inc Topping Lane, Aly's Dream Polish in Bayouberry and Rumpleberry, and Treasures by Tan in Midorita and Amazon Dreams, white striper and Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in Purple.
Are you looking forward to any special Valentines' Day candy?
Stay tuned - at 9am Eastern, my #NailArtForNubs post goes live!
So cute! I had to play the game of "what kind of short phrases can I come up with so it fits on my nubs!" too. :) I'm also in love with that Nails Inc shade!
ReplyDeleteIt's the nubbins game! Play along! lol. It does force me to get better with my art - I have to go smaller or go home, lol
DeleteLove the Nails Inc. shade, its so pretty! Very cute hearts with the messages inside too :)
ReplyDeleteThe Sprinkles collex is what made me fall in love with Nails inc. I have to admit, though, I try to only buy their polishes when they're on clearance at Sephora, because otherwise they are a bit too spendy. I may - MAY - have paid full price for couple of this collection, though...
DeleteAww, so sweet Nidia :)
ReplyDeleteThat's me, sugary - sweet! lol. Thanks, Maria. :)
DeleteReally cute idea to go with the candy hearts idea.
ReplyDeletethanks! Not very creative, but I think it gets the point across.
DeleteThat's very lovely! I like the idea of conversation heart nails :)
ReplyDeleteThey're sort of ubiquitous this time of year... but I don't know anyone who actually eats them! They're like the candy corn of Valentines' Day, lol!
DeleteCute! The base color you used was perfect! I knew I couldn't write my messages so I cheated and stamped mine this time around! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI love the stamps! I'm actually jealous and want to find some for me!
Deletehow cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks! A little too cutesy for me, but hey, it's the season.
DeleteCute! I can't stand candy hearts, I always thought that they taste nasty. :P No V-tines candy for me. I'm on a no-sugar crusade for reasons. I'm okay with it, tho. :D
ReplyDeleteI think they're gross, too. Good luck with your quest!
DeleteVery sweet, I love it! That base is just great. I think I might have it around here somewhere, haha! And you're right, it is totally after the sales after Valentine's Day is over! :P
ReplyDeleteI love that whole collection. Now, if they only put V-day polishes on sale, too!
DeleteLove the candy hearts!! Yummy mani!
ReplyDeleteThanks - you don't actually eat those hearts, do you? Don't tell anyone, they're the pariahs of V-day! lol
DeleteSo cute! I love candy hearts. They're the best part of Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteLOL, They're the candy corn of V-day! No one eats them, they just recycle what they got from last year! lol
DeleteI really like the candy colored hearts.
ReplyDeletethanks! Not exactly what I had in my head, but it'll do.
DeleteBeautiful color selections!
ReplyDeleteWho doesn't love a pastel scattered holo? lol thanks!
DeleteToo cute! I love the hearts. I could never write with my left hand onto my right though, I might have a friend do that :)
ReplyDeleteyeah... I only did one hand. Some of the ladies did stamps for the challenge, which I loved - and then I could do both hands. :)
DeleteWhat a neat challenge! I really like the base polish you used.
ReplyDeleteI'm not usually a pink polish girl, but I am digging out all the pinks this week! lol
DeleteThose are way to freaking cute !
ReplyDeletethanks, Betzy!
Deletehaha, you made me smile w/ the "call me, text me" doodles. What a fun nail art for Vday!
ReplyDeleteI love how they update the sayings - the hearts have been around forever, but when I was a kid, they said different things!
DeleteLol adorable! I could never do this challenge because I'd be so frustrated taking off a whole nail art that I worked so hard on the day before!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't wear this out of the house, lol - I love doing nail art, but most of it gets photographed and then wiped off!
DeleteSuper cute!
ReplyDeletecandy hearts are probably my favorite part of vday haha
ReplyDeleteCHOCOLATE! lol. mmm.
DeleteToo cute, really, for a 40yr old! lol.
ReplyDeleteSo cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Farryn!
