Hello, Fireflies!
No matter what polishes I use, I seem to always come back to blue. I love blue nail polish - and it always reminds me that I could never wear it as a kid. How normal it seems now!
I picked a couple of different blues to wear together, both from Indies. First, I picked Dollish Polish It's Bigger On The Inside, an homage to TARDIS blue. It has micro silver glitter in it. Can't go wrong with that combination!
I knew I wanted a silver glitter division between Bigger and my next color, but I wanted to make sure the glitter looked opaque, so I lined it with silver first.
I think it looks like lightning. I also think I am a doofus for making the same line on my index and middle finger.
Maya Cosmetics Stargazing is supposed to be a dupe for Essie Starry Starry Night. I don't know if that's true, but I do think it's gorgeous. It's a little on the thick side, but a few drops of thinner took care of that. Really thick polish is just a pain for nail art!
I think the silver glitter looks so much better over the silver base, don't you? I knew you would.
I have a soft spot for Maya Cosmetics - I love all of their polishes that I've tried, and the packaging is really nice, too.
Midnight blue is really hard to capture in nail polish - too often it just looks black. Not here, it's a true Midnight blue, my fave color. sigh...
Bottle shot: Dollish Polish It's Bigger On The Inside, Maya Cosmetics Stargazing, silver and silver glitter liners.
Ready for a little blue on blue action?
Oh I love how sparkly this is!
ReplyDeleteTwinkle, twinkle, little sparkly! Me, too!
DeletePretty! I love the color combo!
ReplyDeletecan't go wrong with blue.. and more blue!

ReplyDeletethanks! blue and shimmer and blue and silver and glitter, and blue... oh, my!
DeleteCuuuute nail art!
ReplyDeleteAwww, thanks! squee!
DeleteOh, do I ever love blue polish and these are a couple of beautiful ones. :D
ReplyDeleteI can't get enough blue. I must have hundreds of bottles of blues in different shades and finishes.. and some that are probably dupes. Maybe. I'm too scared to look too closely.
DeleteBeautiful combo!
ReplyDeleteblue goes so well with more blue. :) Can't get enough!
DeleteI rarely use blue polish - but I love this combo :)
ReplyDeleteWhat? I bet you (and your kids) would love it!
DeleteSo pretty and sparkly!
ReplyDeleteThe nice thing about microglitters is that they look great and they're not as hard to remove, in my opinion. A little acetone and felt, and bob's your uncle!
DeleteVery cute. It reminds me of lightning and mountains
ReplyDeleteThat's a cool compliment! I'm glad you saw something in it. :)
DeleteThat is such a gorgeous blue!
ReplyDeleteWhich one? both? yes, both! lol
DeleteI'm in love! Blue is my favorite, too :) This is such a cute mani! Sometimes the easiest nail art is the prettiest!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's what my hubby says, too, when I do a bold, simple look. He calls them all 'stained glass' manis.
DeleteI love blue in stages, currently I'm into browns. This color looks fantastic on you, and of course your nail art is really fun :)
ReplyDeleteI find myself going through stages, too. Right now, I'm finding myself attracted to the *unthinkable* - pinks. WTH? Midlife crisis, maybe? lol
DeleteAs always gorgeous nail air
ReplyDeleteAww! That's such a sweet compliment! Thank you for saying so.
Deletethese are so cool!
ReplyDeleteand easy enough for anyone to recreate, really. Best kind of nail art, in my opinion!
Deleteso pretty! :D
ReplyDeleteThank you! Much obliged.
Deletenice job!
ReplyDeletethanks much! I am to please. :)
DeleteHow cool!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm not sure if you can get these brands in Aussie-land, but you can probably find similar ones. You have some great Indies that come out of Australia.
DeleteThat's easy nail art!
ReplyDeleteEasy... that's me! Well, cheap and easy, really.
DeleteI love this! It makes me think of David Bowie for some reason lol
ReplyDeleteyes! With the silver lightening across his eye. Ziggy Stardust!
Deletei love the black and blue with a dash of silver in the middle!
ReplyDeleteYour eyes (or monitor) deceive you a bit - it's actually a dark midnight blue, not black! I love midnight blue.
DeleteI know exactly what you mean about capturing midnight blue! Purple is my favorite color! le sigh.
ReplyDeleteIsn't just perfect when you can capture it, though? Love it. I enjoy purple polish a lot, too - so many possibilities!
