Hello, Fireflies!
Have you ever needed a 'palate cleanser' manicure? When you've been wearing a lot of color lately, and you just want something soft and neutral and pretty?
What's softer than a polish called Softening The Bad Things? This polish made by Lucky 13 Lacquer is a lovely pale blue with gold glitters, and was made in support of dealing with depression.
I paired it with accent nails done in OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby. I thought the satin finish also felt soft and neutral. I added some scrolls with a gold glitter nail striper, too.
Glitter needs a topcoat, right? I think I prefer the OPI with the satin finish as opposed to glossy, but it doesn't make a huge difference.
Bottle shot: Lucky 13 Lacquer Softening The Bad Things, OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby, and a gold glitter striper.
When you need a change of pace, do you opt for a soft, neutral mani, or do you go for a bright color? I found this combo to be just the soothing thing I needed!
When I want a change, I usually go for something soft. This is so pretty! Love the combination of colors you used here :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lisa! Me, too.
DeleteI love a nice, soft neutral palette cleanser, from time to time. your's is beautiful and soothing. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's not something I go for very often, but I needed something soothing!
DeleteCute mani! Love the combo of colors!
ReplyDeletethanks! I was trying for a gold that would pull out the glitter in Softening The Bad Things.
DeleteI like the gold polish from OPI.
ReplyDeleteIt's quickly become one of my faves. I have so many untrieds, I rarely re-use a polish multiple times, but this one I keep coming back to!
DeleteLove this soft blue and the light and subtle design you use. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice compliment! Thank you.
DeleteIt's a really lovely palate cleanser manicure - very soothing :)
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the Chanel showcase on your blog - that's very exciting!
DeleteI am really liking these nails - super pretty. When I want a change, I usually go dark... like a burgundy or deep green/blue that's almost black. For the most part, I use neutral or soft shades normally (unless I'm rocking out glitter). This however, is gorgeous - love your palate cleanser :)
ReplyDeleteFunny how we both go for a change, but we're the opposites! lol. I also love dark burgundy and deep teal. Some of my faves!
DeleteLove this manicure, you found the perfect balance of metallic and glitter crelly.
ReplyDeletewow, thanks for the thoughtful compliment! :) I'm rarely balanced in anything! lol
DeleteI love this look! I totally agree on needing a palate cleanser now and then!! I'm on day 2 with a nude polish and it's refreshing. The more I see it, the more I think I need that OPI.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean - I keep seeing these neutrals from OPI and Zoya, and I didn't think I needed them... but now I may have to get a couple!
DeleteLooks great! You always have such creative nail art :)
ReplyDeleteThat's so nice of you to say! Thank you.
DeleteI like that satin finish. I've always done glossy but that would be a nice change.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I like matte and texture, I think that this satin may beat all finishes. It's so unique!
DeleteSo pretty. I love gold and light blue together.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteDo your nails spell out something?
ReplyDeleteYou see it too? After I was done, I realized that my scrolls looked like letters. Totally unintended. Maybe subliminal? I have no idea!! LOL
DeleteLove the gold!
ReplyDeleteIt's stunning, isn't it?
DeleteI'm loving the gold OPI!
ReplyDeleteMe, too! I can't seem to put it away!
Deletesuch a pretty gold
ReplyDeleteit's a new fave!
DeleteSoothing....very appropriate.
ReplyDeleteI don't normally think of gold and glitter as soothing, but this is different!
DeleteReally loving that gold OPI color.
ReplyDeleteIts really versatile - work appropriate, and good with nail art!
Deleteohhh...that's super cute! I love the gold...
ReplyDeletethanks! The gold is definitely a winner!
DeleteI love the gold swirlies! It's magical!
ReplyDeleteAbracadabra! lol. Thanks!
DeleteDefinitely a great palette cleanser and I love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's exactly what I needed right then. :)
