Sunday Stamping - The Guilty Pleasure of Excess

Hello, Fireflies!

Today's stamping challenge is Guilty Pleasure.  Oh, I have so many.  I love crappy reality TV like Teen Mom and Real World, I love peanut-butter-filled pretzels and going to Big Lots for bags of Bridge Mix.  I love makeup and nail polish.. lots and lots of nail polish, and lots of different kinds.

I kinda even like crackles, which would definitely be a guilty pleasure! One trend I am whole-heartedly embracing right now is the textured polish.

But, even a textured polish can be taken too far.  Witness Nails Inc Beaded Polish Covent Garden:

It's like blue, sparkly cottage cheese...

It took 2 layers of Gelous and 2 layers of Seche Vite to make it smooth enough to stamp on.

This stamp, from MJ III, just says, "excess" to me.  And, and, AND, and, and, and, and...

I stamped with Milani White On The Spot.

Too much of anything isn't a good thing, right?  Then, why does it sometimes just feel so good? lol! What's your guilty pleasure?

  1. Never thought of stamping on top of a texture color but it kind of works here :)

    1. I've stamped over some of the 'normal' textures from OPI and the like - even without topcoat - and it works really well. This was crazy texture. It looked so pretty in the bottle, but whoever decided it was a good idea to sell was a little nutty.

  2. I'm so bad when it comes to stamping, so I'm always impressed when people can do it well. You definitely raised the bar there, doing it over textured polish!

    1. It's easy to do over regular textures... there was no way I could do it over this lumpy mess without all that topcoat! lol. It was sooo thick!

  3. Blue cottage cheese! I'm totally not into textured polish, but LOVE this color combo with the stamp.

  4. I totally LOVE the texture trend, but when I saw Witness Nails Inc Beaded Polish Covent Garden, I thought... Yikes!!! I think you improved it with your stamping. :D

    1. It is a pretty color, I will grant you that - and I wish the sparkle showed up more on the nail.

    1. It does take practice, no doubt. I'm still not very good at it, but I keep on pluggin' away.

    1. If you did a blog post or have pix, I'd love to see them - I really loved this one in the bottle, but not on my nails.

Thank you for your comments! They mean so much to me, and I read all of them, even if I don't always have a chance to respond.
