When I was young, I really wanted a tan, but I would always burn and then peel.  I would occasionally try a self-tanner, but would be disappointed with the orange glow, and hated that fake tan scent.  Resolved then to stay pasty forever, I had totally accepted and began to love my translucent self.  When I first started getting offers to try tanning products for the blog, I was reluctant to try them, being Pale and Proud.  I'm glad I relented, though, because I've found some really great, natural-looking, nice-smelling products to let me change up my look anytime I feel like having a little shimmer or glow!

My husband is incredibly hard to shop for.  I know, in general, what a lot of his favorite things are - books, video games, comics - but I couldn't tell you which particular game he wanted, or which books he didn't already have.  So, over the last 20 years, we've developed a system for the "big" gift of the season.  I ask him what he wants, and then we go buy it together.  That way, he gets exactly what he wants.  He then wraps his own gift and puts it under the tree!

I do like to get him smaller things, often surprises, that I think he'll like.  I picked a few things I think many men would like to get as a gift... and maybe some women, too!

When I was a kid, my mom was into pushing lots of vitamins on the family.  I think I might have taken 10+ every night at dinner.  Well, some nights, I was able to sneak them into the trash, or flush them down the toilet, but mostly, I took a lot of pills.  And, I grew to hate taking vitamins.  Even now, I try to make myself take a multi and a C, and maybe one or two more, but most nights, they still sit there.

I suspect I am deficient in many vitamins, but one I'm pretty sure I don't get enough of is Vitamin D.  I don't drink that much milk, and I hole up in my sunless cave most of the time.  I thought it was pretty genius that I could get some Vitamin D in liquid form with Dalvia Vitamin D3 Liquid Drops.

I am in desperate, desperate need of a haircut.  I can feel that about 3-4 inches of my length is damaged, tangled, wiry.  I am sad.  It's really hard to grow curly hair sometimes, because it just takes forever, and it's so dry that it does break a lot.
