Press Sample. All opinions are my own. |
I came a little late to the beauty game, and now I feel like I have a lot of catching up to do. I can't buy everything, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to try everything! One of the best ways I've found to try a little of all the newest and best stuff is through subscription boxes. I'd never tried Glossybox, so when I was offered a trial box, I jumped at the chance. Five deluxe samples from luxury brands? I was hoping for a good experience!
In the past, I'd really only subbed to the more budget-focused beauty boxes. Glossybox is luxury all the way, from the elegant packaging to the luxury brands they carry.
Each month, you get five deluxe samples. Inside last month's aMAYzing box, there were some pairs of samples that they must have counted as one! There's also a little pamphlet with information on each sample. If you like it, you can purchase it right on Glossybox's site.
So, what was in May's box?
Nioxin System 3 cleanser and System 1 Scalp Therapy conditioner: I don't really have much need of a volumizing haircare system, so I'll be passing these on to a friend.
Benefit Rollerlash: I had been hearing nothing but raves over this mascara, but after Benefit's 'Bon Qui Qui' campaign, I stopped buying Benefit, and I kinda wanted to hate this mascara. I couldn't, though. It's actually a pretty fantastic mascara. Light and flexible, it never felt crunchy or left flakes. My lashes looked great - curled, fanned, and lifted. This is now one of my favorite mascara formulas!
VersaSpa Face Moisturizing Gradual Tanner: I haven't tried this yet. I'm impressed that they included two tubes in the sample box, though!
Talika Photo-Hydra Day: A unique moisturizer inspired by photo-therapy, this formula uses sunlight to intensify the moisturizing properties in the cream. I don't know about that, but the formula was really nice. Light, yet hydrating, this worked well for my oily skin. No breakouts, no oil slicks. Makeup went over it with no problems.
Rituals Zensations: This foaming shower gel is in a class by itself. I love pretty much everything about it. I love the foaming dispenser, I love the richness of the cleanser, and how it slides over my skin and feels so moisturizing, yet doesn't leave a residue. I especially love the scent. I received the Rice Milk and Cherry Blossom scent, but I have tried their Orange and Cedar scent before. These are not your sickly-sweet or one-note basic body washes. These are for the connoisseurs, for those who like an unusual twist to their fragrances.
A monthly subscription to Glossybox is $21, and includes free shipping within the USA. They offer a six-month subscription for $126, and you get a break on the price if you subscribe for a whole year in advance for $222. They also sometimes offer one-off limited edition boxes.
If you like luxury brands, but just want to try a bit of lots of different things, you might enjoy a Glossybox subscription! For more information, or to purchase, you can find Glossybox on their website, or on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, and Google+.
