Ageless Derma Pressed Mineral Foundation #AgelessDerma

Hello, Fireflies!

When I was getting into makeup, the only foundation I knew about was drugstore liquid foundation.  I don't even remember what brand it was, but the whole process of pouring it out of the bottle (and often getting it everywhere) and then making a mess applying it turned me off from foundations for many years, and I didn't wear them at all.

Fast-forward to me in my 40s.  I've discovered so many awesome foundations of every ilk, but one of the most surprising to me was the idea of a powder foundation, which is still a new product for me.
Wait, I'm old and using a powder foundation?  What about wrinkles? Ageless Derma Pressed Mineral Foundation not only covers like a foundation, but the minerals and anti-aging ingredients help fight off the free radicals that damage skin and lead to wrinkles.  It's like a foundation and an anti-wrinkle cream in one product!

The packaging is a simple black, rubberized texture that does get smudgy much in the way that NARS packaging does, but I like the classic shape and it feels solid in the hand.

The ingredient list has a lot of what you would expect for a mineral foundation - mica and minerals that provide coverage and UV protection, but it also has things you wouldn't expect, like aromatherapy fragrances like lavender, and anti-aging compounds like green tea extracts. It's also paraben-free, and not tested on animals.

Cool Beige was a perfect match for my light/medium with pink undertone skin.  They have 10 different shades listed on their website, from "Barely There" to "Cocoa".

The first time I used Ageless Derma Pressed Mineral Foundation, I was, I'll admit, less than impressed.  I couldn't get enough coverage.  It was because I was trying to apply it straight up with the sponge applicator that came with it, and I didn't know how to use it!  The second time, I picked up my It Cosmetics buffing brush, and I *loved* the results.  Light, blendable, and buildable coverage.  Using the small end of the brush, I could use the foundation as a concealer, too.

In the product description, it states that you can even mix the powder with their Mineral Mist to make a liquid foundation, or mix it with moisturizer to make it creamier.  They recommend using a Kabuki brush to apply the powder with a sheer, dewy finish, or you can even use it in an airbrush!

I was impressed to find that Ageless Derma Pressed Mineral Foundation was featured at the 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards! And, though I'm only on the Interwebz and not on TV, I've got some looks to show you that I created using this foundation.

Have you used a pressed powder mineral foundation?

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  1. It's amazing how a good brush can make such a difference in how we feel about a product. Great looks.

  2. I can't use a pressed powder foundation without a companion product under it (rosacea is a b$%^&!!!!), but they make great finishers for me! This one sounds great, great review!!!

  3. Last year, I tried the Ageless Derma Mineral Foundation in the loose powder form, and I liked it. I have Bare Minerals pressed powder foundation, and though I apply it with a brush, I don't like it as much as their loose powder. I guess even though I use brushes to apply, I haven't cracked the code yet on the best way to do it. Very interesting review

  11. I actually really like loose mineral powder foundations, they're a bit messier but I think I can better control the amount and coverage on my skin!
