Stripes and Studs with Zoya

Hello, Fireflies!

Every once in a while, I get the itch to do a really complicated and time consuming mani.

Usually, it's because I'm trying to impress someone.  In this case, I was giving a guest lecture, and I wanted my nails to be FAB.  I thought this design from Wacki Laki was pretty awesome, and I wanted to do a version of it.

I started with Zoya Cassedy, a foil silver-leaning green.

Then, I placed striping tape diagonally across the nail - I tried to do one from the corner, and one from the middle of the tip.  I also tried to have the top stripe come down about 1/3 of the length of the nail.

I probably should have paid better attention in math class.

I painted over the tape, carefully, with Zoya Storm, one of my fave black glitter polishes.  I finished the look with some silver square studs.  I probably should have used smaller square studs, but I didn't have any.  I have child-sized hands, apparently.

Nothing makes me feel more uncoordinated than trying to do nail art on my right hand! I keep at it, though, hoping I'll get better.  I really love how this turned out!

One person in the lecture noticed! Score! Have you ever done nail art to impress someone?

Thank you for your comments! They mean so much to me, and I read all of them, even if I don't always have a chance to respond.
