Drinkin' the Cool-Aid with Beauty Bloggers

This was my attempt to impress the other beauty bloggers at the May meeting.  We were so busy talking and laughing and eating, I didn't get to show them to anyone!  I did wear Cult Nails My Kind of Cool-Aid because I'm a Cult Nails fangirl.  (btw, I bought this polish, it was not provided for review.)

Two coats of My Kind of Cool-Aid.  If you like purple, this is a must-have.  This is my fave of my Cult Nails collection.  It goes on like buttah.

I wanted to do some nail art.  I had circles in mind, but it took me a while to get to this stage; I tried different stamps, using a straw, and finally just drawing them freehand.  This is my right hand, hence the wild mistakes!  This is Maybelline Amethyst Ablaze, a metallic.

Slightly off-set from the metallic circles, I drew in darker circles with Revlon Naughty.

I decided to fill in the circles with Zoya Malia, but it didn't stand out, so I mixed it with Zoya Barbie.

Then, I dotted the centers and made other small dots on the nail with Sparitual Sacred Ground, a graphite-colored polish with purple flecks.

I wanted to add some iridescent shine, and I thought that Sparitual It's Raining Men would do the trick.  I thought it was a translucent polish, but it had a surprise.  When the light hits it one way, it's completely opaque, which I wasn't expecting.  Other directions, you can't see it at all.  It's a very unusual polish!

Sealed with Seche Vite topcoat:

I do seem to like these types of nail art where you use a billion colors, but they're very subtle.  This wasn't my fave, but it was fun playing with the different styles of polish and how they caught the light in different ways; the metallic shadow from Amethyst Ablaze, the sparkles from Sacred Ground, and the iridescent flashes from It's Raining Men.

Hope you also enjoy experimenting, and would love to see what you come up with!

And, don't forget about the pre-sale for the Cult Nails Fairytale collection:
Cult Nails will be offering the collection for Pre-sale starting Saturday May 26th, 2012 through Saturday June 2nd, 2012. The pre-sale event will be for the collection only (they will be available for individual sale starting June 15th) and it will be at the reduced price of $40 for all 5 colors. It's like getting one color free! All pre-sale orders will be sent out by June 15th and at that time they will post all the new colors available for sale individually on their site. As always if you order during their pre-sale event, you can order other colors as well, but everything will ship together.

    1. Me, too - no matter how many purples I own, I keep coming back to that dusty purple..

Thank you for your comments! They mean so much to me, and I read all of them, even if I don't always have a chance to respond.
